PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Doesn’t look good, although this is the entire journey.

Thanks Kermatu. This is a busy route with a lot of high tier PAX. I hope some J pax will move to F to free up more seats.

Hi all, could someone please help me understand if BA ever release award availability, be it Y or J, to OW partners (QF points) on BA8461 or BA8463 ? (LCY-IBZ)

Dates Id like would be 8th June 2020, but it appears even earlier dummy dates never have availability?

Looking at a rewards search on EF you only get indirect availability via PMI on 8/6/20:
A 84830LCY
08/06/20
10:55 AM
PMI
08/06/20
2:20 PM
FDUnavailable
84% / 15m
Business - Award & UpgradeUYes
Economy - AwardXYes

And just a general availability search on BA8463 shows no U or X:
BA (CJ) 8463 J9 C9 D9 R9 I9 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 N9 O9 Q9 S9 G9

Damn thanks a lot for checking. Yes I can see the PMI routing.

How annoying, there is some married segment problem going on here. There is award availability LCY-IBZ-PMI or LCY-PMI-IBZ.... but you cant get LCY-IBZ!!

Would hidden city this if I could but will have luggage :(

So Im guessing that means its a big No!

Hi all - could someone please help me with availability for the following flights? Two passengers; one WP and the other no status. Booked on discount Premium Economy tickets.

Sunday 14 July
QF 35 (MEL/SIN)
QF 1 (SIN/LHR)

Not sure if it’s too soon to check, maybe I should be more concerned later this week.

Many thanks.

Both look quite good at this time. Best to check back a bit closer to the time

And now Y->J success on the return QF94 LAX-MEL at T-60 as a WP. I was a little surprised it cleared this early as QF96 is not flying on a Thursday so expected less availability on QF94.

Fingers crossed Mrs HockeyMonkey as a NB on a separate ticket has some success or it might get awkward.
Still in with a small chance at J4 C4, right now

Cheers,
Matt

@OATEK was that a copy and paste error for the second flight?

Thank you both for such a quick reply. That's one full flight back from BKK!
@Daver6, I think the difference is that I was lazy and did the search as a connecting flight rather than two separate flights. Good luck with the PER flight, but looks tough for QF24.

I have put in 4 upgrade requests so far ;

2 Domestic Y to J
1 Intl Y to W
1 Intl Y to J

all successful so far

I have put in Y to J from HKG to SYD on 23/July. Fingers crossed

I'd say your chances HKG-SYD midweek are pretty good. Some discretionary travel to HKG will be down due to concern over all the protests, and midweek on a business travel heavy route is always lighter than either end. Also IIRC, HKG-SYD has 5x flights daily (2x QF, 2xCX, 1xVA), so plenty of competition and therefore open seats. I've been 3/3 for upgrades as WP over the past year, and those were 2 on Friday night, one on Thursday.

Thank you. I hope I get it. Will keep this thread posted

Anyone able to help by giving the loadings for QF7 on Saturday 20th and QF94 on Friday 26th July? Hoping to use points for upgrades on both.
