PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Thanks pjm99au! I think its actually X class for partner awards and N class for EK Skywards (after more Googling).
Interesting that there is no N class at all!

Hello, would someone be so kind as to let me know the upgrade probability for QF9 (PER – LHR) this Saturday (25th). 1 pax SG Y+ to J.

Thanks

Thanks!

I assume Y is showing as 0 due to decreasing the loads as a result of not flying over Iran, not because economy is "full". Not sure if that will make a difference to my upgrade chances, though.

The upgrade fairy says at the moment everyone who wants an upgrade will get one.
Of course there could be late requests but starting from Y+ should help you.
Not sure SG helps much as there are so many with equal or higher status now.

Hi all - hoping someone can help me with loadings for the below:

One* person is going to get a shadow. I hope it's you!

*Realistically it is probably two people.
I currently have a shadow. A week ago with J9 I was half hoping for the upgrade to clear. I just read that yesterday's QF10 flight had to return to LHR after a tail strike. I guess that now explains the full load.

Hi,
appreciate any assistance for loading for the following:
13/3/20 - BNE - HKG - CX 150
13/3/20 - HKG - HKG - CX 846
23/3/20 - HKG - BNE - CX 155

Thank you

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. Hope the Brains Trust can help.

I'm looking for a classic rewards flight points only, (have 293,000, and am only a bronze) ONE WAY home from Rome to Sydney, leaving on July 23, 2020. For 2 Adults, Business Class.
As short a flight as possible, as few stopovers as possible.
At a pinch, could go from Naples. OR, fly to somewhere like Nice, Venice, wherever, as long as it's close by, and go from there. I'm pretty easy, as long as it's bus class, and not too long between flights. (ie no overnight stops).
Our prebooked accom is in Rome checking out on July 23. I'd rather not have to fiddle with that too.

AND a flight that DOES NOT INCLUDE China, and is not on a Chinese airline. Unfortunatley my currently booked airline is China Eastern via Shanghai. Not happy about it. It's only going to get worse.

I'm having a LOT of trouble with the website.
Can get Rome to doha, but not Doha to syd...
or Dubai to Syd. Or any other for that matter. It keeps glitching out.
I've tried single city and multi city, but not getting any joy.

One problem is that I don't know which airlines fly where.
Any help would be appreciated.
Admins happy to move the post if it's in the wrong place or inappropriate to ask....
Thankyou,
Jenny

Unfortunately you are coming up against the challenges of using points when being quite definitive as to what you are looking for. You can get lucky but using points generally requires a lot of flexibility particularly with dates and routes.

Your first point of research should be the oneworld website. It has a good interactive map that shows where all the OW partners fly. Look at options of flying into Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne and then connecting domestically to Sydney.

the web site can be glitchy but in your instance there is currently no direct availability for your date

No actually, while I'm not very flexible with dates, as it would require cancelling accom, I CAN do it, just prefer not to. I could leave day before, 22nd, but would be in Sorrento needing to get to somewhere.
COULD add another day in Rome or another European port if I had to.

And I'm VERY flexible with routes. Can fly out of somewhere else, can fly to somewhere closeby, like NZ, Adelaide etc...as long as the flight doesn't go round the world twice, and IS in business class.

Ok. Just trying to help.

With a quickish look I was able to find availability on a route FCL - DXB - SGN - NRT - MEL - SYD all J for 2 pax.

It will likely be more points than you have but there seems to be stuff all availability from Asia to Australia up to and including the 23rd /24th of July. I suspect school holidays? There is BA J availability from Sin to Syd on the 27th.

Identify the oneworld airlines (and EK) and using the QF website work backwards from different cities in Australia to their home ports in Asia. Once you’ve found a flight into Australia then the options for getting from Europe to that port are more varied.

The interactive map can be found on the one world website using the find a flight menu and then clicking on see where we fly

Good luck

I REALLY appreciate your help, thankyou.
Can you tell me how you found a BA J availablity? I can't see one on the Qantas website anywhere, for anydate.
