PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Can someone check QF782 April 25th (PER to MEL)?

I just got switched to this flight from a different flight (QF784) since QF784 got cancelled, but it looks like QF782 isn't currently bookable.... I hope Qantas hasn't cancelled (or has zeroed out preparing to cancel) this flight too, because I can't seem to book it online...
Qantas has finally cancelled QF782 as well, and has booked me on QF780 PER to MEL on April 25th. Can someone check the loadings for me? Wouldn't it be funny if this flight was zeroed too...

So the timeline is
  1. Feburary - Booked QF 784
  2. March 11 - QF 784 cancelled, rebooked by Qantas onto QF 782
  3. March 15 - QF 782 cancelled, rebooked by Qantas onto QF 780
  4. Next week? - QF 780 cancelled (I assume, since it's zeroed out), and Qantas will rebook me onto QF 778?
Looks like Qantas is only going to have one flight from Perth to Melbourne this day.

I noticed today that QF have cancelled A LOT of flights in and out of PER for later this month. I had flights all lined up yesterday and went to book today. All morning flights to SYD and MEL gone. Down to one a day to ADL. Prices now through the roof too.

So they booked me onto QF778 a few days ago, and now they've reinstated all of the above flights... sigh.

I've just noticed that a PER-MEL flight I have booked in late September that was originally an A332 and got downgauged to a B738 a couple of weeks back is now back as an A332. :)

EF bird change alert has not yet fired, so the change must have just happened.

Hello all,

Can someone check availability for flight MH807 Mnl to Kul on April 3?

Many thanks!

Hard to know. Two days after Malaysia opens, it could just be full. But can't rule out pending cancellation.
True - forgot about that! Looks to be a number of flights in and around these dates that are zeroed, so demand is possibly the more likely scenario.

Hi everyone, just wanting to see chances for an upgrade to J on UA839 LAX-SYD on 01/04. My family have waitlisted upgrades

Can I also ask the odds on QF433 SYD-MEL on 03/04?

Thank you

Looking for flight loadings for

QF1 SYD-LHR 27/28 June and QF2 LHR-SYD 26/27 July.

Thinking of booking Y return MEL-SYD-LHR and trying for upgrades (long shot at this time of the year but worth a try).

Needless to say no U (which doesn't show on Flight Availability).

Thanks. So coming back is a slightly better chance though the loads may increase a fair bit between now and the flights.

What about QF1 SYD-LHR departing 28 June and QF2 LHR-SYD departing 27 July?
