PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Not the best at interpreting these but at present (understanding they’re mid holiday flights) chances at y to premium and business upgrades don’t look particularly good do they?
They’re not great numbers at peak time that far out no.

They can be deceptive though and they can represent the fare buckets they currently want to push onto purchasers. The 9 indicates a minimum of 9 seats in that fare bucket available. If it showed 8 for example that would indicate 8 only.

Unless you are WP or above I wouldn’t hold out any real hope of an upgrade on QF1 or 2 most days at the moment

No J award seats available unfortunately. If you meant an upgrade then not without hope but on the low side

Hi trying to work out whether this flight is cancelled as it is now not bookable

British airways 916
LHR to FRA
13 August
7.10pm

Thanks

Interestingly the seat map has very few seats taken.

Edit: as pjm99au just posted!

There are probably a number of flights a day on that route. BA is trying to minimise the disruption to passengers by cancelling flights on routes with several flights a day so mostly passengers should be able to be put on flights on the same day.

The Heathrow passenger cap is forcing them to cancel many more flights than they otherwise would.

The passenger cap is unlikely to be met by still flying all the booked passengers on fewer flights.

I am booked on a flight which has now zeroed out, that is scheduled for 9/8. What gives me some comfort is that J is fully selected looking at the seat map, so they would have a lot of premium passengers to rebook and no seats that day or the next on the route. In my case I think they have cancelled a later flight and consolidated. 🤞

In the case of BA 916 and 910 on 13/8, there are very few J seats selected across both flights (4/24), and only a handful of Y seats allocated. So I would be looking at alternative ways of getting to FRA just in case.
