PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Hey, could someone help me check
QF25 Thursday, 3 November 2022 SYD-HND
QF26 Saturday, 12 November 2022 HND-SYD

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I'll have bad news for my NB friend on that flight...
Most likely, IME QF25/26 has always been a busy flight for QF and finding rewards/ upgrades has never been the easiest but not impossible. I was easier when the 747 was on that route but those days have gone.

Could someone please post availability on
QF75 SYD-YVR for October 31

My daughter already has a Classic Award Y+ seat and as a WP I've been unsuccessful in requesting J to be released for which there appears to be 9+ seats available. I suspect it is a I vs D fare class issue.

It's never guaranteed, but they have both I & D available. Do you think they might have thought you were trying to get the X upgraded to a U (which they won't do), vs release of a new award ticket in U class?

Interesting, thank you for confirming.

I don't think they are trying up upgrade the current booking as that is under a different booking reference.

My first attempt the operator mistakenly put the request under my NB daughters account which was silently rejected. After not hearing anything for 48 hours I called and they retried under my WP account. I'll try my luck again tomorrow.

The operator was also surprised they wouldn't release given the I2 and D9. I also have an upgrade request in so hopefully that clears on the day of travel.

The I class fares are now 0, but still showing [at least] 9 in the other J buckets. Good chance that WP and above have already had upgrades processed with the load as it is. How did you get on with trying again?

Cheers,
Matt.

Still no luck. I tried both retrying against the original request and starting a whole new request. It seems they just wouldn’t release a J seat to a NB. Probably would have been a different story if I was on the ticket.

Hopefully the upgrade comes through or else I’ll appeal to the CSM onboard if there are unused seats. Otherwise my daughter will have to make do with Y+. She has a J LAX-MEL leg on the return trip to look forward to.

Thank you for following up.

No worries… and she’s back to I2 again! 🤓

Good news, my daughters J upgrade from her original Y+ Classic Award just came though.

Family of 4, two on paid J, one on a J Classic Award released as part of Alan Joyce's apology in August and now the 4th an upgrade from Y+ Class Award to J

Interestingly the points were taken from my account, so my WP status may have had some influence on the upgrade.

Now to see if they will let us all in the F lounge. Otherwise the daughters will be fending for themselves in the Business lounge :)

Good morning.
Can anyone tell me loadings for
CX138 SYD-HKG 25 Aug 2023
CX178 MEL-HKG 25 Aug 2023

QF127 SYD-HKG 26 Aug 2023
Thanks
