PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Thanks pjm99au, it looks ok for a QF platinum. I am low on points but want to experience the Finair couch.

Hi there, would it be too cheeky to ask for loading for a flight, and also a brief review of it (for a newb) explaining if you think there’s any chance for a upgrade for 2 pax from paid J to F?

If so, the flight in question is QF1 SYD-SIN 31/03/24 - but no dramas if you can just provide the load, that would be wonderful

Hi AJS - here's the load for your flight.

I'd say the chances are reasonable with seats still available for sale (at least 8 F seats are still being sold), however, with a fairly busy J cabin (only fully flexible still on sale), I suspect you will have a lot of competition for an upgrade to F (especially x 2), and so it will come down to how many others are in paid J (the only way to upgrade to F on points), and what status those pax have, vs your own.

P1 upgrades will start to clear from 7 days out, with Platinum generally commencing around 2-2.5 days out. If you are at a lower status level than this, then you'd need to check in again much closer to the flight to see what availability looks like after that action has started. Maybe at T-24. In any case, good luck with it, and remember it's not a bad thing to end up in the QF business suites, even if F doesn't come off!

Cheers,
Matt.

Hi Matt thanks so much! We are both Bronze so it’s highly unlikely but nice to see so many seats available and at least we may be able to pick something further up J at T-80 once all the WP1/WP’s get their upgrades!

Agreed stoked to be in J anyway so will be happy regardless off outcome :)

Thank you! We are paid business and hoping for an upgrade to F floor two adults and a child... Platinum QFF so maybe a small chance
