PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Re: Upgrading from J to F on A380

So I've got my J upgrade to F request in for QF1 from SYD-LHR this Saturday, I've been checking the availability of F seats and it seems there are still some for sale.

Being a lowly Silver member do you think I'll nab one?

Any other silvers got this upgrade before?

Sometime ago, being PS, I approached the departure gate asking about my points upgrade request (QF11, SYD LAX)

"We are very full today, Sir"

I am afraid you would hear the same.

The US routes are usually more full than the LHR routes though ?

Hi guys, appreciate the help with my LAX flights the other week. Once again myself and SWMBO find ourselves booked in long-haul Y in two weeks time (QF9 on 9th of October). Flightstats shows: J/9 C/9 D/9 I/1 U/0 so at the moment it appears as if there is availability.

However we're on deep-discount Y (non-upgradeable fare class) so we're unable to even request an upgrade at the moment. If there's still availability within T-80 or T-24 (or even at the gate) do you think it's worth a call to see if they can do anything? Would be a win-win - they would get to fill empty seats and have us burn ~200k points.

In the mean time I'll keep my fingers crossed for one of those targeted emails, though not sure how likely that is. Cheers.

The loads are fairly high in the premium classes on many flights on that route.
I had/have upgrade requests lodged for SYD-LHR and on my return tomorrow LHR-DXB-MEL. I did get a sector upgrade DXB-LHR but don't expect anything out of the next two flights.

Unfortunately, that would be your only reaistic option - I would not even waste the time calling (unless you are into multi $k upfaring).

I got an SMS last night at 11:50pm - confirming my SYD-LHR flight will be in First Class!

I was so excited I didn't get to sleep until 2:30am, scouring Youtube for F video reviews :)

SQ Business Reward flights

Hi there,

Im trying to work out my options for SQ 212 12/04/14 Syd to RGN (Yangon), looking at reward Business class flight but outward is showing waitlist in Business saver:
Z/4 C/4 J/4 D/4 Syd - Sin
Z/4 C/4 J/4 D/0 Sin - RGN

is D/0 the business saver? I'm not bothered about business class for this leg so could I book a mix?

Thanks all.

If J for SIN-RGN is not important, maybe a reward J seat SYD-SIN followed by a paid Y seat SIN-RGN? Two separate bookings, so your luggage may not connect though.

Travelling on QF93 on 5th OCt, 2013 and booked on full "Y". Can some one help me and let me know what are my chances for an upgrade to business or PE if i use my points? Is flight full booked or plenty of seats in economy avail?

Little to no chance of an upgrade, but Economy doesn't look too full.

Very true, have to see if I can organise this through KF. Luggage is important given it will include a bike for touring ;)

Thanks Ferni for the quick response

I guess than i will not request for a points upgrade and hope i find some empty seats next to me in Y so i can sleep :)

Not going to cost you anything to put the request in, just don't expect it :)

You may be able to get SQ to connect the luggage, but at the very least if you allow enough time to collect and recheck bags in SIN you should be fine.

Off to LAX with Mr Katie and Little Miss on Sunday 6 Oct. I've been checking Flightstats, so know the premium cabins on QF11 are pretty darn full. We are in Y+, 2 PNRS (me on one, the others on a second as they come home before me). I have J upgrades requested. I'm thinking we're a slim chance of getting them.

Anyone care to chime in with analysis/thoughts/predictions/reassurance that it's pretty darn unlikely?

And I know it's risky with the 2 PNRs; I'm WP and Mr Katie is only PS nowadays. I doubt it matter at all, but I've requested the upgrades all from my QFF account.

Hi all,

Need some advice from you gurus on my chances of an upgrade this saturday.

Im QF Gold but booked on an upgradable, discount S class fare.

Expert Flyer is showing this:

F9 A9 J9 C9 D7 I0 W7 R5 T4 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M8 L9 S4 N1 G0 E0

What do you think? Chances look ok to me...
