PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

>>>> END OF ADMIN UPDATE <<<<

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Re: Seating Availability/Allocation/Configuration Help Desk

thanks, looks like some spare seats

I would say QF22 looks pretty full. Still more than three months to go and only availability is in Y, B and H buckets. Were you hoping for a spare seat in whY?

Re: QF107 - SYD-LAX chance of upgrade?

OK, so just put in an upgrade request for both QF575 for Tuesday the 5th November and QF568 for Thursday the 7th November, and in both cases I've been entered into the lottery.
Is the lottery the standard way dom upgrades are done these days or are the flights simply that full?

It seems to be going more and more to a lottery. I have managed on occasions to get the upgrade through after talking to the Plat Line its worth a try along the line of whats going on never had this before :D

If nothing else they may be able to tell what other flights do have seats available

QF581 leaving 2 hours later still has U1, so if you move to that flight you should be able to confirm the upgrade. No U class available on the 7th.

Re: QF107 - SYD-LAX chance of upgrade?

Thanks guys, can't move the flights around as the timings are pretty important. Aka be in Per as early as I can on he Tuesday without charging the client extra and leave Perth as late as I can on Thursday again without charging the client too much extra.

Re: QF107 - SYD-LAX chance of upgrade?

I posted this in the Operational Upgrade thread but probably should have posted it here: Hope someone has the answer! :)

"Has anyone that has been Op-Up'd on Cathay Pacific confirm that they were Op-Up'd from an exit row seat in Y?

Reason I ask is I was wondering if being in an exit row came with any disadvantage re: probability of op-up's. other than getting a lower BN and being a OWE"

Re: VA LAX departures to move to TBIT - 1 Dec

I am on VA7 (BNE -LAX) Monday 25/11/2013. I have seen posts indicate how many seats are available on flights but I do not know how to find out. Can anyone assist with Y, Y+ and J seating loads. Thanks in advance.

Hi Jessica just letting you know no upgrades on any of the flights but due to very low loads managed to get a row of 4 to myself on all the flights and great service from the CSS and CSM made for a very nice trip.

If you are looking for an upgrade it doesn't look good...

Thought I would report back - checked in at ADL 6 hours before the flight. Got to the gate at SYD and received the wonderful red beep. Ended up getting the upgrade to PE. Not sure what happened - possibly a number of passengers didn't turn up/connection didn't make it in time. Seemed like they had a lot of new boarding passes ready for people who had put in upgrades.
Done the DFW flights a few times now, and seems that PE and J is always very full. They must be getting some good yields from all the business travelers on this route.

Re: QF107 SYD - JFK Upgrade?

I'm flying
QF107 SYD - JFK (2 May 2014)
QF3204 SFO - LAX (22 May 2014)
QF12 LAX - SYD (22 May 2014)

I bought Premium Economy tickets (O) and requested upgrade to Business last Friday. As a Platinum member, what are my chances?

I am guessing chauffeur service is out even if I get upgraded, as it requires 48 hours notice?

Many thanks
