PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

>>>> END OF ADMIN UPDATE <<<<

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

So these are my upcoming flights, booking is in H which is full fare, looks to me as if the first 2 are close to full, 3rd looks almost empty and 4th is busy.
What are SQ like with comp upgrades? I might make VA silver before the last flight. but I am travelling with a group of 8 so chances would be very slim i would guess, but would happly ditch them if offered :P. So being in this position would just be happy with a free seat or two in the Y rows

To my untrained eye it looks like upgrade prospects are remote, but might get some extra space with spare seats in Y. Is that right?

No necessarily the 9's in the higher priced Economy fare bucket can simply be a Yield Management to sell some of those 8 Business seats ...

O9/X9/Q9 would be more indicative of a light economy cabin.

What will happen if 3 of the 4 upgrades get processed?

Pretty sure it doesn't work that way....it's all or none.

I've had luck with getting 4x Y>J (SYD-SIN) upgrades once before....couldn't believe it when it came through.

I don't know who you are travelling with, but have you considered splitting yourself from the booking to maximise your chances? ;)

Family policy is similar to QFF....one in - all in.

EF shows the numbers are still holding....

Re: Qf 11

I hear you!

An option would be a 2:2 split

That would substantially increases your chance.

Mum + 1 could sit up front (you could swap your upgraded F with your wife pre boarding).

Still a happy family unit of two, bearing in mind that in F, you cannot see or hold hand anyway. Sharing a meal, yes but that's about all you could experience F 'together'.

Had a chat with the SWMBO about this......not keen. Even if the boys volunteer and stay put in row 11. I'll keep watching EF and see how the numbers fall......if things get desperate (more than likely) I'll have another crack.

TBH we'll probably stick to "all or none" as I'm prepared to jump over at the last minute and sign three of us up to do the AA Plat Challenge.....even more so now due to the depressing QF news:( Got a decent stash of QFF points sitting in the kitty and can see a lot of sense in spreading the love over a few FF schemes!

Hopefully, the upgrades come through and I get to burn 180,000 points and then jump over to do the AA challenge:D

You're right on the F cabin, if my kids were younger I wouldn't bother (13/10).....they handled their last F trip SYD-LHR-SYD well and are seasoned travellers.

Re: Qf 11

We are on QF7 on December 17. 3 booked seats in y+ with a points upgrade to J requested.

Flightstats states 18 seats available. Can someone confirm this with EF?

if 18 seats are indeed empty an upgrade might happen.

many thanks

EF seat map shows 1 blocked and 25 empty open seats......looks promising!

Re: Qf 11

Hi All

So flying with the better half (plus another currently being built - baby not wife :)) and heading to the folks for xmas.

Flying on 20th December Mel - DXB (QF9) and then onto DXB-LHR (QF1). Flying economy but upgrades in for Business. Currently loadings look like

MEL - DXB (QF9)
F/9 A/9 P/0
J/9 C/9 D/9 I/1 U/0
W/9 R/9 T/6 Z/0
Y/9 B/3 H/0 K/0 M/0 L/0 V/0 S/0 N/0 Q/0 O/0 G/0 X/0 E/0

What are my chances? From my untrained eye they look good, even PE looks pretty empty

Chances should be quite reasonable. There aren't going to be too many upgrading from Y+ to J either, given the current load in that cabin. It's a textbook holiday load at the moment.

Re: Flight Availability/Loading & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

Hi folks, I would be extremely grateful if someone were kind enough to check loadings/availability for the following. Split into two bookings: Mrs LoungeSuit + two mini LoungeSuits in one booking with me on a separate booking. All currently confirmed in Y and waitlisted for upgrade to I.

Airline: SQ
Flight 1: 21/12/2013 SYD-SIN SQ222 dep 16:15
Flight 2: 21/12/2013 SIN-LHR SQ322 dep 23:45

Many thanks in advance.
