PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Hi all, could someone please check for me QF9 on 18 December - flight stats says 24 seats available. We are flying Y but have points upgrades requested to J (or Y+ as a backup)

what do you reckon the chances are?

Seat map shows about 9 seats open in Y+ and 21 open in J.

Looks promising.

And you still have time to organise the chauffeur drive...

amaroo already had J tickets booked so CD was already available?

PS I take it that all 4 upgrades were processed?

Correct. We're only using 2 out of the 4 transfers due to the uncompetitive pricing for outside of the zone.

I take it that all 4 upgrades were processed?

Yes, all four of us.

Absolute fluke.....todays QF11 was an old clapped out 747 and was chock-a-block.

The kids are super excited......me too!

Re: Flight Availability/Loading & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

And the AA Plat challenge plan ??

Won't bother with changing FF accounts for the first (SYD-LAX) sector. Have plenty of scope to meet the challenge with the other flights. Will start with the next leg LAX-JFK.

Amaroo clan have secured 5FK and 4FK on QF11:D

Re: Flight Availability/Loading & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

Long time lurker, first post! I'm flying SYD-JFK on QF107 this Friday 20th December. I have requested a points upgrade from Economy (B) to Premium Economy for me and my little boy. What are our chances of getting it? I'm a Gold FF (sorry, not up with the code lingo!) and ExpertFlyer is showing this:

J9 C9 D6 I1 W7 R3 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M5 L0 V3 G0 E0

Thanks in advance!

Seat map for QF107 on 20/12 shows 34 A/B blocked in PE and all the rest allocated, so I think it will depend on how many get an upgrade to J. Seat map is at odds a bit with the availability as it shows only 4 free and one blocked in J. Other might have more experience at interpreting.

P.S. Welcome aboard!

Thanks Oatek! I've got my fingers crossed, I probably should have requested the business class upgrade, but thought I would save my fellow passengers the pain!

Re: Qf 11

I'd agree, even as a PS ... although I1 brings a little reality.

Hi Serfty

QF9 on friday (MEL - DXB) Looks even better now with 4 days to go?

Re: Seating Availability/Allocation/Configuration Help Desk

Hi all,

I'm flying from SYD to NRT on QF21 on 21 Dec. I'm a WP and I've put in for a J upgrade. Does anyone know how full this flight is and whether I may get an opup instead of using points ? Thanks.

QF 21 0 SYD NRT 744 Unavailable J9 C8 D0 I0 U0 W5 R0 T0 Y0 B0 H0 K0 M0 G0 E0
21/12/13 22:20 22/12/13 6:20 94% / 101m

Y is oversold but D/I is nil.

J9 and seat map shows 10 unallocated seats.

You're in with a chance for op-up - that would be my wild guess.

Thanks legroom,
If QF were to opup me and my partner would that take precedence over my upgrade request ? Or will they take the points first then opup others if necessary ?

I think the 2nd scenario is much more likely.
