PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

it seems the 4 blocked seats are only selected as CX Diamond. OWE are next on the list if there are seats left 🤞

Here you are - looking good; There’s even 2 x U awards available to book!

Cheers,
Matt.
Thanks Matt. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. On a related question. I made the upgrade request as soon as the booking was made (for QF25 on SYD-HND on the way out on 20/July as well as for QF60 on the way back this Sunday). The request did not clear on the 20th and I can no longer see the status of the request for the return flight on either the app or in manage my booking. Is this normal? If my chances are good I would hate for the request to have dropped but I can't even make the request again as the 'request upgrade' button does not show on the app or when I try to enter the booking ref on the website. Any tips?

Hi - unlike domestic QF upgrades, the international requests never 'clear' at the time of the request, rather they are waitlisted in a 'Requested' status until processing, closer to the flight departure. Depending on your status with QFF, you could be notified from as early as 7 days out (for P1/CL), 48-60 hours out for WP, and the remainder usually inside of 24 hours from departure.

If you can't see under the booking in Flights > Flight Details that there is an Upgrade Status listed with 'Requested', I would suggest giving QF a call and have them confirm that it's on there. You can usually request an upgrade at this point, just not in the last 24 hours, but maybe the fare class is [now] ineligible? They can confirm for you the request status and options, in any case.

Good luck with it!

Cheers,
Matt.

Thanks Matt. Fare is definetely eligible. I ended up calling them and they confirmed they could still see the request so it was weird that it was not showing up on my app. Upgrade came through at T-59 🥂

It might still be a bit far out but chances of an upgrade on QF7 SYD-DFW on Friday 23rd August?
