Flight History - Full or not

As others have said, it'd be impossible to get accurate information. Until the a/c door shuts the number of people who can be on a flight will be very fluid, so just because Y seats where not available at the time of booking, they may have become available before departure (eg a Y pax changed or cancelled flights)

So it's more than likely that at the time of booking J was the only seats available.

As others have said, I'd put in a procedure to cover such senarios in the future (eg if BFOD is in a J or F seat the employee needs to ring up a manager in the office with access to either expert flyer or seat counter to confirm)

Perhaps the employee should have printed (or screen dumped) the booking page showing the inability to book Y.
