On the VA High Flyer's instagram profile was the attached image. Cameron Ernst is standing in front of a banner stating "fly business class, and earn double velocity points and status credits"

Can't find anything publicly announced yet. This photo appears to have been taken at an event in Sydney last week on October 31st in relation to "A Murder is Announced." It was posted on Cameron's instagram November 5th.

I think it is related to the VA /EY promo that ended last month ..... you had to register online by 31OCT and travel by end of NOV13

Except that was fly business and get triple points, so its not related.

From 1 October 2013, Velocity Members have the opportunity to earn double Velocity points when travelling in economy and premium economy class, or triple Velocity points when travelling in business and first class, on eligible Virgin Australia and Etihad Airways flights until 30 November 2013.

Does anyone have a link to current info on this? I am 90 SC's from Platinum, and about to lose a lot of credits that expire in 2 weeks, so if I can do a status run on double status credits, it may be well worth pushing for Platinum! Every year I get close, this may be it!

Why would they use that same banner last week if it was from a promotion long gone?

What are you trying to get SC wise, there is a very good run in J to MEL from overseas thats a big earner.

I still think they just had a room full of those VA banners for photo ops, they pulled this one out two not bothering to really pay attention to it, and snapped pics in front of it.

As someone mentioned in another post, business travel quietens down over the silly season. I also know government has been cut back pretty hard.

Good way to try and get backsides on seats - even if it is only for the status runners...
