Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

just checked one of my flybuys account (out of 3) and i got the offer, but too bad, only max 10 cards per account :-( will use AMEX edge to get triple points :-)

500 points for $80 spend between Thu 8 Feb and Sat 10 Feb. Try harder flybuys!

I got an offer of 500 points for $50 spend. I wasn't very impressed either, especially since we're taking up an offer on my partner's card which this week gives us 3000 points for spending $40 at Coles.

I used..

Spend $70 get 1000 points
Spend $80 get 500 points
3x points on total of next purchase
50x spend on coles baby wipes (rarely on sale as everyday price is $10 per box)
Spend $15 get 1000 points on frozen goods.

So last night I went and bought
10 boxes of baby wipes Total $100.
$15 of frozen goods.

Grand total $115.

I think if calculations are right I saved $39.23

:)

That's very impressive. I think you counted the base points twice so I put it at just under $39 of points.

1000+500+345+5000+1000 = 7845 ?

So 7845 * 0.005 = $39.23 ? hehe

Also discounted coles gift cards ;)

And these wipes hardly ever go on sale. so this is great!

1000+500+345+5000+1000 = 7845 ?

115 base points + 1000 + 500 + 230 + 4900 + 1000 = 7745 $38.72 about 34% which is a really good return for a flybuys offer.

In the original equation you counted the base points in both the triple points total and the wipes total.

I can understand you need lots of baby wipes and the Coles ones don't go on special but I would have done things slightly differently. I would have tried to stay as close to the $80 target as possible. 7 boxes of wipes plus $15 of frozen goods for a total of $85.

This ends up as 85 base + 1000 + 500 + 170 + 3430 + 1000 = 6185 $30.92 about $36% return on spend.

Well done for using the discounted Coles cards.

By spending $115 there is a chance you next targeted offer will go up to $150. Staying at $85 the target would probably only go up to $100 for the next offer.

Ahh ... Yeah took the whole lot of 10 boxes. Oh well. it's ok.

lol I was on $150 before, then went down to $50 coz I didnt spend on it for a while. guess they realised.

Has anyone received "spend $10 or more on in-store items at Shell Coles Express"? Ended 10 days ago. I never shop at Petrol stations usually and have never not received an offer so not sure how long to wait or how to claim them?

I usually find these sort of offers take about 4 weeks to credit the points.

I have noticed an interesting inconsistency on a recent targeted offer.

I received an email for -
$170 - 1500 pts - 8 Feb to 10 Feb (stated both in the headline and the in small print T&C's)

However, online it states -
$170 - 1500 pts - 7 Feb to 9 Feb

Given I have just spent over $170 today I might need to follow up on this one.
