Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

This has to be a joke:

"Collect 1 FREE Coca-Cola 1.25L Coke when you spend $210 in one shop at Coles!"

I make that about a 1% return!
I got that offer too with a $230 spend target.

And Mrs H has this which is ever so slightly better ROI but equally silly:
I see your coke, and your Milo, and raise you a chicken! For the low price of a $130 spend.

My Coles special offers have been stuck at $100 for 2000 points for a LONG time.
Might get to that level once every three months. Even less likely now as local Woolies is making discount price offers (With stupid point bonus offers).

Oh to be (the real) wandering

Neither the wife nor I have ever had a spend of less than $100. Other than don't use the card for ages, any tricks to get the spend down this low?
I used to get high targets but then I started stopping by a local Coles on the way home and purchased something very small ($5 or less) and then I started getting $50 or $60 spend x 4 weeks for 10,000 points. The question is if it is worth it to get a lower spend target, for me it was no problem doing these small spends as I was walking past the Coles regularly so didn’t need to go out of my way.

Have you made multiple accounts? Could always alternate between cards or if you are going to make a large purchase split it across a couple different Flybuys accounts? Pain in the cough but I suppose Flybuys aren't going to offer low targets to people making large spends. I typically spend at least $1500 a month at Coles on one account. Targets are high but I hit many of them. I've now started to shop a little less at Coles as WW points convert easily to QF points and I'm now focusing on QF points as Velocity is still a little uncertain. WW also don't limit the amount of bonus points earned on gift cards while most Flybuys gift card purchases are limited to 1 per account.

Mrs Happy Dude and I do alternate between our two accounts and her targets are slightly lower than mine. Like you we'll probably frequent WW more now due to the VA uncertainty but I like the 10,000 pt offers - they're kinda fun - so I'll keep an eye out for them.

Just received a new $50 spend x 4 weeks for 10,000 points. Week 1 starts Friday 3 July and ends Sunday 12 July 2020.

This is extractly one month after the last offer which is a surprise.

I just got $180/week. I'm thinking to close the account and start again.

I've found in the past (no travel this year 😓) that when I go overseas for 4-6 weeks and totally ignore and delete their emails, the offers get better over time. Try not activating any offers on that card for a month or two.

I got a 20% bonus offer to transfer points to VA 🤣
Got this a well, I don’t think so. Not until VA is clearly operating for long term and I understand any changes to Velocity including awards available.

Collect 10,000 BONUS POINTS

Spend $60 in one OR multiple shops at Coles, each week for 4 weeks!
I didn’t pick up on the multiple spends during the week adding up to the weekly target. That’s new. Following g he part of my offer with the key word I think being transactions.

All eligible transactions adding up to the qualifying spend of $50 exclude purchases of all gift cards, iTunes cards, charity items/donations, tobacco and tobacco related products and Coles Online delivery fees.

Collect 10,000 BONUS POINTS

Spend $60 in one OR multiple shops at Coles, each week for 4 weeks!
$280 per week for 10,000 bonus points. Dreamin.

This shows how much buying the gift cards from Coles impacts on things as I spend less than $20 a week on groceries, the rest on gift cards which attract bonus offers.
