Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

Got the coupons in the mail again last week, 500 points for $50 spend will go nicely with the 2000 points for a $50 Telstra recharge, interesting that some of the coupons can be used more than once including the Telstra recharge ;).

I wondered if they'd send more coupons after the other ones ran out. I'll keep an eye on the letterbox. I'd love a coupon with the $50 qualifying amount. I'm guessing mine will be slightly over that and I won't be able to use all of them.

So far only 2 of our family have received their new bonus offers in the mail. Not sure where the other 2 are.

500 points for $60 spend (spend has increased even though I never take up the offers), and triple points at Liquorland.

500 bonus points for a $50 spend at Coles from email offer. Should stack well with the coupons I received in the mail with 750 points for a $60 spend.

I also got an email offer for 250 points for spending $10 at Coles Express (excludes fuel). I think I'll be getting my bread and milk there this weekend. In Coles I usually buy the 700gm white sandwich block for $2.30. If I buy two of these blocks at Coles Express I can get them for a combined total of $4.00 which saves me 60 cents. Add 3 x 2litre bottles of milk and I can get to the $10 total. I won't be buying any petrol for a while as I filled up just before the price jump. I'd like to get some sort of decent value for the 20 cent fuel voucher I earned last weekend.

I am guessing Flybuys are sending out the coupons in batches. The "Week 1" coupon I was sent expires on August 11 and the week 2 coupon can't be used until August 12. This gives all the coupons time to get through the mail system.

I just used my coupon tonight for 1500 points for $50 or more recharge - lets see how long until the transaction posts.

My targets were set for $60 as well which is going to be pushing it, I am lucky to hit $40. I could give my mother in law the vouchers but in future my targets would be sky high because she spends $180 odd per week in Coles!

We haven't had too many reports here of what the new coupons are like. This may also be a sign that there are more coupons to be sent in the next two weeks.

Went back to Brisbane over the weekend and collected my mail including the Fly buy coupons, although there is no minimum on spend I only show the card when its over $30.00

And it seems my shopping will be every 2nd week to get the 750 points for spending $50.00

A lot better than the offer I received - 750 points for $250+ odd weeks and triple points even weeks.

Yes, it doesn't seem fair does it. Loyal and large spenders don't seem to be rewarded more for their loyalty. Flybuys seems to reward disloyalty sometimes as I usually get the best targeted offers by making them think I'm not spending with them every week. If your regular spend is actually $250, then a 750 point reward is the equivalent amount of points that you would usually earn in three weeks. This doesn't seem fair against Bundy Bear's offer. His 750 point reward for spending $50 represents the equivalent of 15 weeks of base points.

Just saved $18 today on my tank of petrol after using the 30c fuel discount voucher ....

Now Flybuys send me another offer today for spending in Coles from tomorrow to Sunday:

20c off voucher for $60 spend
25c off voucher for $70 spend
30c off voucher for $80 spend

Now I have to figure out what I need to spend in Coles ..... Hard to get $80 shopping for me.

Hmmmm my targets

$50 = 20 cents
$60 = 25 cents
$70 = 70 cents

I don't need that much this weekend so $50 is too far out of reach.

Here's a fantastic tip
Page 23 of this weeks Coles Catalogue
Spend $50 or more on Gift Cards and receive $10 off your next Coles shop
Buy a Flight Centre Prepaid Visa Card for $150.00 + $6.95 card fee
Gross Total Cost $156.95
Less $10.00 for next shop
Less $0.78 value of the FlyBuy points
Less $15 to $25 on petrol voucher savings depending on the voucher amount and fuel purchased
Net Saving $18 - $28
PS use the prepaid visa card at coles the next day to do your shop and claim another fuel voucher

Sweet :D

But there's more not a a free set of stake knifes but if you use your Amex Plat Reserve Card you will receive 3 point per dollar therefore receiving 468 Amex points as Well

This sounds like a great idea but I'm not certain it would work out exactly as listed above. If I understand it correctly, you are purchasing a prepaid visa card with a value of $150.00 for a price of $156.95. This means the $10 coles voucher listed on page 23 would effectively be worth $3.05 ($10 less the card fee). I confess that I have chased deals worth less than $3. It's still a version of free money but not as much free money as the deal could be on cards where you don't have to pay a premium on the face value of the card. Unfortunately I don't have much use for the gift cards listed in the deal.

You also implied that the gift card purchase could be used as a qualifying spend for the high value fuel vouchers that are on offer this weekend. The flight centre card has the words "gift card" on it. The flybuys targeted offer conditions exclude gift card purchases. I checked with flybuys today and they said this applies to all gift cards available at Coles, not just Coles group cards. This condition seems to differ from the EDR conditions on fuel vouchers and non WW group gift cards.

It's great that you showed a way of combining lots of offers and promotions, so well done. I just wanted to make members aware that not all of the combinations were possible.

Fuel offer for me this weekend. $70 for 20 cents per litre, $80 for 25 cents per litre and $90 for $30. Don't need much at Coles this weekend so won't take it up.

I got a Coles Express offer to buy more than 30 litres of petrol there twice between aug 3 until aug 31. I would get 400 bonus points for the offer. I probably won't take this up as I've used the 20 cent voucher earned a few weeks ago and all the EDR vouchers I have will end up at least 8 cents and one will end up as 14 cents.
