Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

Does that work at Coles? The t&c of the Coles spend x get y offer says excludes gift cards.

these T and C always have to be tested. Some of the promotions/paperwork say "excludes Coles group gift cards". Some say "all gift cards excluded"

I think experimentation is called for.

And thanks to Markis10 for the quick reply above

I agree that experimentation would be a good idea but in this case I don't have any use for ITunes cards either.

I did do an experiment in November last year. I have no idea whether the results of my experiment can be duplicated. There was a weekend last year when Coles had a deal on Prepaid Visa cards. You could spend $50 on the card plus the activation fee of $5.95 and a $10 voucher appeared at the end of the docket/receipt. I purchased one of these prepaid visa cards and added $5 worth of groceries onto the transaction which took the total to just over $60. I had a paper coupon that week for "spend $60 for 500 points". I didn't have any other use for the coupon that week so I got that scanned on the transaction as well just to see what would happen. When the points for that coupon promotion were credited, I got the 500 points for that week.

If you have the funds to try out these experiments and you weren't going to use the promotion for anything else then it's worth seeing what you can achieve.

Just as a side note, do websites like Card Limbo and other websites that sell unwanted gift cards, take ITunes cards? These sites take a commission on the value of the card but it might be less than what the discount is at the moment. This is the only possible money making strategy I can see with the current promotion.

Card limbo don't do iTunes. AGAIK Apple take a 20% cut from developers on iTunes purchases, if that's the case you could always make an app with inapp purchases ;)

Received "Simply spend $30 or more at your local Liquorland store, AND shop in store at Coles and get TRIPLE POINTS on both shops. (TRIPLE POINTS will be applied to your largest spend in both Coles and Liquorland during the offer period.)

Passing on this one, trying to cut down on the alcohol intake :p

I got a repeat of the spend $40, save $10 etc offer. Used a docket deal to get $5 off a spend over $30 and walked away with a $20 voucher. Better deal than woolies this week!

should also have hit my 75 points for $7.50 on fruit and veg.

I do wonder about Flybuys strategies sometimes.

Having received an A4 sheet full of targeted offers in early January, each offer said points post within 4 weeks of purchase (from memory).

It has been 5 weeks now, yet no bonus points. Do they expect people to hold on to receipts for that long, or is it a case of sucking people in with the spend amounts and hoping they forget to chase up missing points? I guess I have another couple of weeks to wait until the redemption I want expires, but getting a tad nervous now waiting.

The points from the weekly coupons take 4-6 weeks from the end of the week date to post. Sometimes if one large coupon takes a long time to post the following large coupon takes less than 4 weeks to post.

If you are using the random coupons for specific goods it will be 4 weeks from the expiry of the coupon. Many of the coupons expired on 23 Feb so it will be the end of March before points from these coupons post.

I hope you don't miss your redemption cutoff. I've heard about many people disappointed about redemption items that come and go. I just redeem flybuys dollars as I couldn't find anything worthwhile in the items, tickets or other vouchers.

I am looking at the half price Dreamworld tickets.

I haven't made a Flybuys redemption in the many years I have had the membership, but for a one off Dreamwold visit it does seem good value even if it is only the convenience I am looking at.

If you were to go in March I would not bother with the redemption, $30 for a 30 day pass.

The spend hurdle has increased from last week:
$50 for $10 voucher
$90 for $20 voucher.
