Hi all,

Flying from SYD with QF this Friday. I say some horror queues on the news from T2, is QF in T3 as badly affected? Recommendation for how early I should arrive for my 8am departure?

Do you have lounge access/what class of travel/where to?
HLO/bags to drop off for plane hold?
OLCI or do you want to try to get on with trying to get a BP at the lounge, if you have access?
Personally, I would get to T3 open area at 6am.
One time, when I was aiming for an early A330 from SYD to MEL, then they did an equipment swap, 6.30am became a 7am or so flight for me.
This was a while back, pre covid.
I tend to stay at the Ibis Budget and walk from there to T3/(T2 when flying VAd).
Do you have a person to drop you off, or do you be dropping off (rental car), or bus/train?

Flying to BNE, QF Silver so no lounge access with HLO

Sorry about the waffly acronyms.
To cut it short, 6am to sum up, but others would say, no need to be too early.

I'd reserve 45-60 mins for the security queue, plus all the other hassle in the terminal = there at least 90 mins before the departure time.
