Food Poisoning from the International Qantas Lounge

My thoughts exactly...

In a forum you usually choose a nickname that you intend to use long-term; you don't typically see people using 'Fatty Boomba' as a handle if they open a topic about being denied boarding, because they are corpulently challenged.

Thanks for ur input and ur welcome to ridicule me if you like, but I'm having a great time and hope to be around for quite a while !

Thanks Guys,

I ate at the Sydney Lounge around 12:30pm
About 12 hours later felt giddy but went to sleep
day 2 I felt sick at 12:30pm and started having diarrhea
day 2 around 9:00pm threw up and continued with diarrhea what felt like every 30min
day 3 started to show blood passing as well as diarrhea. Time to go to hospital

sorry about being grosse

The other question is what had you eaten beforehand and even after you arrived?

No ridicule intended, just stating my opinion - but I did have a bit of a giggle when I saw that 2 of the people browsing this thread are 'sick as a dog' and 'scaredycat' :)

I'm not sure why you have now edited all your posts, a bit pointless as you have been quoted already. Makes for bumpy reading.

I also suspect I got food poisoning from the Bangkok International Lounge. This was about 2 years ago. I can't be sure it was from the Qantas lounge, but I think it was a good possibility. In Thailand I eat carefully and don't usually eat fresh items such as fruit. Coming home to Australia, I let myself go in the Lounge and ate things that I would not normally eat in Thailand. After returning home I got very sick.

Hi nlagalle
just felt I was being harsh and not constructive. I really wanted to get others feed back rather than a witch hunt or to spit on people that try their best. Got to admit this was out of character and I obviously offended some members - to whom I apologize.

apologizes to all, Hope to talk about good experiences that make travelling memorable .

Motion sickness from the reading thread really. To answer the OP, I haven't from lounge food but certainly some things onboard I've been smart to refuse - especially after long delays.

Completely OT, the only time I got sick was flying somewhere domestically out of PEK T2 and decided to have KFC for breakfast (you may laugh). Followed by the most turbulent flight I've ever endured. Stupid things you do when you're young...

And I see nothing wrong with the username. At least we'll remember who you are :) Might have to get you into the flounge next time though.

Timelines may definitely indicate that the Feta may have caused the food poisoning.
If this is the case, I would suggest that you approach your respective Health Department. I guess you would get more joy out of them, then you would from Qantas.

Perhaps look at the people who are currently suing Virgin Australia for poisoning them and see what high levels of proof they have to have to make it to court. It's a different situation but might help as a start :)

Fair enough! Well welcome to AFF. I hope your experience hasn't put you off the lounges (regardless as to what may have caused your sickness).
