Ways that hotels annoy guests

The Denver airport property is quite large, much larger then the current airfield. With the exception of the Westin at the airport terminal, all other hotels are off the airport land. In addition, many of the airports close to the site of the old airport are still called "airport hotels".

Hotels in the red area are from the old airport. The green area are newer when the current airport opened.

Are we talking about the same hotel?

Actually google maps shows it 9.5 miles to the airport, but they have a free shuttle which, I suppose, qualifies it as an Airport Hotel.

This is the old airport location. Still 9 miles from the Marriott.

The problem with the hotels that claim themselves to be "airport" hotels just because they have a free shuttle is that the shuttle is never at arrivals when you land - you have to ring, then wait - and if it is coming 19 kilometres through lots of traffic lights then you could be waiting 30+ minutes at a late hour having just landed dog tired and aching all over after flying Y on a QF 787.

I'm more concerned about "airport" hotels which have fixed shuttle times, booked in advance, and having to pay a nominal sum. Like the CP at Madrid.

Damn good thinking - this is a problem that I struggle with quite often.

One of my pet peeves is hotel curtains that don't properly close/overlap in the middle - how hard is it to figure out what size curtains are needed so as they overlap to keep the light out. I now take several clothes pegs with me to resolve this issue.

🤣 Yep! Its ridiculous! You end up with more cushions etc on the floor than useful pillows on the bed.
I enjoy that hotel experience at home too. Does look pretty though
