Ways that hotels annoy guests

I usually travel alone and often find that there aren’t enough hooks to hang up towels in the bathroom. I’m happy to use my towel for a few days but if it’s hanging on a hook, it’s still damp the next day and I don’t want to use a damp towel.

This particularly annoys me in hotels that have been built in the last few years or refurbished rather than the older ones. I can imagine with three people it would be even more frustrating.

Mini bar fridges that automatically charge when you touch something. You don't have to drink it - just touching it is enough.
In my experience you have to remove the item to activate the switch, or at least joggle it so the switch senses the movement.

The jostling is the biggest issue. Sliding medicine into whatever spots are available has triggered all sorts of charges over the years. And some hotels jam so much in, you can't use the fridge at all yourself. They may as well not advertise the fridge as being a feature of the room.

Recently in Europe, I even asked one hotel if they could remove all the things from the minibar as there was no room. The hotel was great and took everything away promptly. Imagine my delight when I was then charged for whatever formally lived in the spot each time I took my things in and out of the fridge!
