Free ALL Gold Status for QF Silver or above - also Points Club Plus

Accor+ comes with Silver status. So you’ve done ok ticking over Gold - if that’s the reason.

I did get an offer to join a business form of Accor+ but it was offering a special promo to gift Gold status. I didn’t take since I was already Gold and Ibis Business is probably better value for my circumstances.
I obtained an earned Gold status in 2021, which carried over to 31 December 2022.

In 2022, I only stayed 1 night in an Accor hotel, but am PCP, so had the upgrade to Gold offer by applying.

Until early December 2022, there was no indication that the Gold would carry over until end 2023, like others who qualified to auto-upgrade because of PCP.
And I was unsure if it would cover me, as I was already Gold at the time of the status upgrade offer.

However, when signing up for Accor Plus (I wanted to do that in December, so that the Accor Plus Membership had a 31 December each year expiry date). It then showed my Accor Plus being active until December 2023 as well as GOLD status. Previous to that, my Accor ALL was showing an expiry date of GOLD as being 31 Dec 2022.
Accor / Accor Plus is such a funny, clunky product to use online.

Anyway, I'm happy to have retained Gold - I've got a few bookings already in the first half of 2023, and keen to utilise the benefits.

I have Accor Plus courtesy of my Amex card. That being the case I am Silver by default. When the Qantas/Accor linkup occurred I went to Gold however this dropped back to Silver sometime later.
Am I missing something as I am thinking I should have remained at Gold?

Isn’t there a loophole with Accor Plus where it extends your current ALL status for 12 months when you first join Plus?

Dang! I didn’t know that.

If I got gifted gold through the Qantas partnership but my accor plus expired at the end of December 2022. I've now been dropped back to the base level. am I right in thinking that I need to call someone to get the gold extended?

Similar to my post #342 above. But who to call?

My ALL Gold status has been retained for 2023, and it was showing in December 2022.

However, during that month, I did join Accor Plus as well, so potentially some crossover with that, as it wasn't showing before I took out that membership.
As it is, I only had a 1-night stay in 2022, so for 2022, it certainly wasn't retained due to earning.

Anyway, I have a number of bookings already in for 2023, so hope to make much use of the Gold status this year.
Now, to check for a Fast Track option to obtain Platinum.

Happy New Year to all

Accor.Plus was extending status for members through 2022, so the extension to 2023 reflects the Accor Plus policy.

It's not a loophole, it's how Accor.Plus works. And December is a good month to have the AccorPlus membership in, as you really only need to achieve a level once every two years.

Hi Mark - can you please expand on the 'only need to achieve a level once every two years' bit?
I'm a little confused about that one.

If achieved a status in 2023, wouldn't one need to achieve it again in 2024 to retain it for 2025?
Otherwise, wouldn't the start of 2025 be at a lower level to have to level up again?
I'm just curious.

As it is, I liked how Accor ALL had a 31/12/20xx expiry date as standard, and wanted to retain that when I took out Accor Plus in December specifically for that reason.

Don't mind me.....I am tired and no longer responsible for any cognitive thought.

For an Accor Plus member, status is determined when you renew Accor Plus. They have two time periods they look at:

1) The previous calendar year
2) The current calendar year, up until the time of renewal.

So, if you renew in December 2023, they will consider

1) What you achieved in calendar 2022
2) What you achieved in calendar 2023 up to the point of renewal.

So, if you had attained a status in 2022, then you don't really need to attain it again in 2023.

Obviously this works better for someone with an Accor Plus renewal late in the year, versus someone early in the year.

Cheers! I will report back!

My Accor plus was ‘gifted’ via a ‘refer a friend’ last year. $99. I was offered to renew for $90, but excluding the free night stay.

I declined because I only really use it as part of a couple to get the 50% off, and the person i travel with is already Plus.

Gold courtesy of qf appears extended to Dec 2023 (as expected). I don't usually stay at Accor properties but if anything changes, great to know about the plus feature to extend a further year!

Hi, I managed to obtain Gold status courtesy of the double status offer during covid, although I nearly got next level too. But I also registered for the Qantas upgrade offer, and got email saying I had registered - but nothing else. As I was already gold nothing really changed.
I was hoping this would be for another year - to Dec 2023 or at least for a full year, but disappointed find I have been dropped back to silver.

Also disappointed I never really got an upgrade, except maybe one night at ibis I got a top floor.

Also Accor hotels getting very expensive, even compared to others so have book some other hotels at half the price and while some other brands have had regular sales, Accor has not had
any since before the pandemic, making it harder to stay loyal.

My Accor gold has got until end of 2023 (and that was a status match from somewhere)

Finally contacted someone today who said they’d look into it.

They responded by email within an hour… they cannot find any promotion by either qantas or ALL, applicable to either Accor Plus or regular ALL.

So as there is no valid promotion, Inhave been downgraded.

Am I right in thinking the Qantas Gold promo should have been one year? Seems odd to make it for only the remaineder or your membership year, which might have only been a month or so.

My Accor Gold was via the QF promo and my Gold expiry date is 31/12/2023.

Like @VPS and @exceladdict - looks like I may have got an extension. But I'm not sure.

I still have the original promotionAl email. Gold until 31/12/2023. So there was no “extension”, that is the date. However, I am wondering if I have to still pay my silver subscription in July this year? I guess I’ll ask the question at that time.
