Free ALL Gold Status for QF Silver or above - also Points Club Plus

Although it seems every eligible AFFer is signing up, in the end how many actually will book hotels very often? The status is nice to have just in case. Hotel chains know there is a good attrition rate.
True it will depend on the hotel chain people book with, as there is decent competition with other hotel chains here like Hilton, Marriott, IHG and Hyatt and status with some of them is easy enough to get.

I hope AFF members have also taken advantage of the IHG Platinum status challenge! Registrations for that end on Sunday and it's open to everyone.

It worked for me. DO NOT click on “link accounts” if already linked, just straight to “claim gift“. As I have already confirmed, I cannot see the same page any longer.
Yes, that works. Must have missed that the first time. Thanks a lot

You do not link again. Just continue on to accept the offer. I did that and offer was confirmed. There seems to be a few versions of the email.
Oh thanks! Actually I notice when I click the link it says the below (so I assume it's OK). I clicked the Link Now button without reading that, hence the confusion. Thanks!

Gold status is coming your way

You've successfully registered to upgrade your status with ALL - Accor Live Limitless to Gold.

Hotel elite status is given out like candy to anyone who wants it. The underlying economics for hotel status vs airline status are vastly different. Hotel chains just want you to book direct so they earn points revenue whilst pushing the cost of serving the elite benefits back onto the hotel. This is why hotels now offer degraded breakfasts, less elite benefits and in the Accor program - why most of their brands basically don't participate at all (what benefits do gold members get at Ibis?).

There's a cool AFF podcast that talks about status matches here for this interested! Podcast Episode #87: Getting an Airline Status Match

P1, clicked on the email link, just got a "subscribe now" button, and just shows I'm on fast track with still my ALL silver status, no ALL gold yet. Wonder what happened there, will check in a few days in case it changed.

With every man and his dog now ALL gold, I think it's safe to assume upgrades and late checkouts will be minimal.

Just don't have high expectations and you won't be disappointed. As I think someone mentioned upthread, Accors are notorious for finding a reason not to upgrade, or to exclude themselves from any promo. And ALL is not a great award program. I dropped myself like a stone from Plat to Silver when they re-jigged it.

Typical Qantas IT . Couldn't it say "You're already linked - click here to continue' ??

Thanks for the heads up - I was waiting to be in the 120 day window for Newcastle, but had forgotten.

Thanks for the reminder. Almost forgot about it.

I have IHG Plat via Ambassador, and unlikely to stay 15 nights on 120 days, so its not going to be of value to me right now, but a great opportunity for those seeking an achievable way to reach IHG Plat and/or Diamond.

So it looks like we will all start earning some Accor points on flights?

Qantas flights: To earn Reward points on eligible Qantas flights, you must at least hold ALL Gold status or Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum status. You must also ensure your Qantas Frequent Flyer account is linked to your ALL - Accor Live Limitless account prior to checking in for your flight. Reward points will be earned in addition to Qantas Points and Status Credits. Points will be calculated based on eligible spend. Eligible spend is the price paid for the seat including fare and carrier charges, but excluding government imposed taxes or optional fees such as seats, bags, upgrades. Eligible flights are any Qantas operated flight with a QF flight number on your ticket where Qantas Points are normally earned. Qantas Points and Reward points will not be earned on some fare types and booking classes. For full details, see terms and conditions and Airline Earning Tables.

You have needed to be ALL gold or Qantas Platinum to earn those points. Which will be a lot of new people
Bingo. Maybe that’s what this is about. Taking the ALL / QF hookup for some from meh to hey?

But I suspect we won’t see ALL Diamonds being offer QF WP any time soon.

I also received the offer. It's nice to have but a marginally bigger room is not going to sway me away from best rate of the day.
I have found that Member Rates really do give very good savings on some rooms, which is why I renewed. Also a big discount off meals and drinks. Plus the complimentary drink on arrival, of course!

What are they doing for WPs who had already earned ALL gold on their own dime? Nothing?
Nope, they are giving all WPs a year of complimentary ALL Gold. Sounds like you don’t need it, lucky you!
One of the pitfalls in treating everyone the same, is the people already ahead often feel like they miss out.
