I just noticed today my free flight is now showing under "My bookings" as "23 Sep 2012 Fly Free Voucher" when I click on View/Change it takes me to a web page to use the voucher.

Notification went out to overseas disrupted pax in the past day or so. Offer of GBP160 (~A$250) against future travel expense.

Does it need to be booked by Saturday??? Or take up the offer?

Super-Bump!

Just wondering where people affected went with the free return flight as the departure deadline is coming up in December this year.

We were affected our the return leg of a trip to MEL for a wedding back in October 2011 and while thoughts of BME, DRW, CNS, AYQ, LDH, MHU & CHC have been quite tempting, the zinkle family have had to be boring and are using it for the same purpose, a wedding in MEL - in October 2013. A waste to be sure but let's not linger on that....

Also found out that the ticket for zinkle jnr 1 (non-paying infant in 2011) did not have any restrictions for the new booking (child in 2013)

I finally used mine earlier in the year SYD-AKL-SYD to visit offices in AKL and WLG... I had to catch the orange cancer between the two cities (return!) as QF would not allow an inbound to AKL and then outbound from WLG-SYD on this offer (though the Y- cost if booked online at that stage was identical).

Cheers.

I used my voucher for a SYD-PER-SYD trip last weekend. Managed to use 16,000 points to upgrade myself to J (on an international configured A332) even the voucher states that upgrades are not available on the FlyFree fare.

Oh wicked. Was that an ODU? or you could do that online?

It was an ODU. I cheekily clicked on the 'upgrade using points' button when I collected my BP from the kiosk to see what happens. Initially I thought my request did not get through as the kiosk asked me to see a staff member (which was expected as I was on a non-upgradable fare). After checking with the QP front desk staff, they advised me that my upgrade was processed but the system did not spit out a boarding pass for some strange reason... I was given my BP and went to the J Lounge.

So my advice is it maybe worth clicking on that 'upgrade using points' button if you are travelling using the FlyFree voucher.

Well done :) nice little trick there. Will try it on my last fly for free ticket. Got 3 of them but used 2.5 so far. Got a MEL-PER leg to fly in early december.
