Frequent Flyer the Documentary

And the fun all comes crashing down when we realise that being a Frequent Flyer isn't a pick-up line, and that women aren't into blokes who fly crazy routes for the miles :D

(Excluding people who are either George Cluney, or look like him).

Maybe you should take up needlepoint or Corvettes Mal & see if that turns you into a chick magnet overnight!

Didn't an 18 year old in an elevator want to go out dancing with you recently?

I know the feeling... not letting my wife see this video! She might think I'm addicted or something! That's crazy! All I did last Sunday was fly to and from Auckland, but everyone does that on the weekend don't they??
SWMBO knows I'm what I'm like, but she does reap the benefits when we travel.

That's why last year I was able to fly T-T 26 times ... mainly overnight ...

Corvette would make me look like an old man trying to reclaim lost youth, or otherwise in some kind of mid-life identity crisis... Needlepoint, Nah.
(I was mainly referring to Patty - our blogging friend and her distaste for random status runs!)

Haha, yes that did occur. Strangely enough I had no status bling on me at the time.... and no, Frequent Flying was not discussed.

You'd think they would get sus, but perhaps he spotted a loop hole in the system? Maybe the points were being earned in the travellers name and the transferred? Not sure as he doesn't go into detail about it other than to say the fed thought he was a drug runner.

Most US programs allow transfer of points between people for free or a fee. Sometimes depends on status. Have heard that story before but can't recall whether the full details of the flying was discussed. I'm sure the DEA sniffing around suspecting "drug runner" would have been fun!

enjoyed the video heaps. thanks for posting.
won't let my other half watch it though, as he already thinks that i am a bit obsessed, but then again, he is very happy when i say "don't worry about it, we're going straight to the Business Lounge" or " don't worry , we are turning left, not right".

Loved all these quotes... I didn't realise that you could earn points on flights you yourself wern't flying on...

I was thinking the same, perhaps he had some sort of business membership setup with the airline where by all appoints accrued by his 'staff' were credited to a communal pot.

I was wondering the same thing. You'd thing the airline would get suss if there were 10 bookings for him to fly simultaneously several times a day for 6 weeks.

Actually, ISTR the FF program at the time permitted crediting to a different person. This was ticghtened.

I think it may have been referred to on FT as the "Baht Run".

Virgin allow it - Family Pooling

Perhaps the guy convinced TG that he had 10 brothers who worked in the rice industry. :p

When I met SO he didn't even belong to the QFfreq flyer & only had a DJ Velocity credit card through the NAB. Thanks to a JASA HNL/BNE, a couple of KUPPs in November & a few domestic BNE/PER/BNE's for work he's now SG & when he gets back from PER only has to earn 295 more SC by 30 Jun to get WP!

He told me after his 3rd PER/XCH return he'll be 10 credits short of Velocity Silver which means he won't have to pay for luggage.

He's now the proud owner of a Woollies EDR Mastercard & an Amex Platinum with Priority Pass & all the other accoutrements plus I even helped him redeem 2 x JASA's HNL/SYD/DRW for May this year.

I suppose you can always discuss about flying for miles if you aren't interested in her? :)
