Can we mention this comment when they remove a benefit you like and start going on and on about it? :p

Absolutely :) Because it wouldn't happen :)

I'd post once my opinion and then action on that if I thought it warranted it. Not repeat myself 40 times over and over and wallow in the situation.

I guess I think there are more important things to do in life than dwelling on things that I have limited control over!

Back on topic - an AA system is good they show the codes in a really great and easy way. Wouldn't mind seeing that pop up here.

Why don't you try asking Red Roo nicely? Seems like a reasonable request.

Hopefully she/he hasn't been driven away by some of the rabid members still going on and on in the anytime WP access thread!!

Red Roo hasn't been driven away yet. Well, was still around last night.

Also, Platinums wallow, eh? :)

I really do wish QF would let you see the booking class when you buy online.I am not tech savvy so I end up asking the agent at checkin. ...
It really is very easy ... see here:
  • Enter Qantas.com
  • Search for and select flights
  • Click [Review] button and the "Review your flight" page appears
  • Activate your browser's "view page source" feature¹.
  • In the new window, hit [page down] a few times until you see a block of text beginning with:
    var mileageRequest = this.earnPointsConnectorUrl;
  • In here there is a line with the code:
    &CLASSES=x ...
x ... indicates the booking class(s) for your selected flight(s).
¹ Invoking "View Page Source" depends on your browser:
  • Firefox:
    • [Right-Click] in an insensitive area of the page, "View Page Source", or
    • Click "View" in the top menu and select "Page Source", or
    • Hit [CTRL+U].
  • Internet Explorer
    • [Right-Click] in an insensitive area of the page, "View Source", or
    • Click "View" in the top menu and select "Source", or
    • Hit [CTRL+F3].

Famous last words ;)

BTW better things to do like post 20 times over and over about how people should just get over it. Even in another thread? ;)

So do CX if you want to relate to one world airlines, but that is irrelevant, neither have the QF it department looking after them, we still have a long way to go to get all flights to display let alone fare classes.

I hadn't thought about that method. I look at the flight codes on the fares matrix ("Select Flights") page. There's a whole bunch of lines of code that add the entries of distinct fare products at a certain price to the flight matrix. From here, you can match the price with the fare codes.

In any case, you have to remember what's easy for us is far from easy for other people. Just doing "View Page Source" for the uninitiated is enough to scare people off.

I work in IT of which is support ... I am aware of some peoples trepidation with things computing.

I do find, however, that most with the gumption/nous/luck to successfully book a flight online generally also have the gumption/nous/luck to be able to follow step by step instructions such as that I posted (as I might verbally relay over a support call).

Easy for you but for me....
But thanks for that.I knew you had a post on it but as i said i am a tech dinosaur and the searches I did came up with pages of irrelevant posts so gave up.
I am glad you descibed everything-view page source would have left me still in the dark.
As for multi quote-well I have clicked that button many times and nothing happens.
so now i will answer Medhead in another post-at least it gets my post count up quicker.

What and let the customer know exactly what they're buying before they pay?

Might be easy for young whippersnappers. But some of us are slowing down in old age.
And some of us weren't even up to speed in the first place.

It would be useful to have some of these as "sticky" or in a list of tips/hints? It's a lot more user friendly than the search function, and is much easier for new members.
