Garuda Indonesia Delays/Cancellations

A332 PK-GPQ on GA712, the redeye from CGK down to SYD on Friday 17 March should arrive at roughly 1119 hours, 54 late. The Friday schedule for GA713 returning to CGK is 75 minutes later than on the other three days each week it operates, so with timetabled departure not until 1245 hours it should 9in theory) be unaffected timekeeping wise.

On Saturday 8 April, GA716 took off an hour after scheduled pushback (the latter being 2355 hours on Friday 7) so arrival in MEL ex CGK should be at 1008, 48 late with A332 PK-GPS.

UPDATE: GA724 91025 hours CGK down to PER, B738 PK-GNL) was airborne at 1115; arrival should be at 1649, 49 minutes tardy.

On Saturday 29 April, GA712, the overnight CGK - SYD is expected in at roughly 1011 hours, 41 minutes tardy with A333 PK-GPV.

GA724 (1026 hours CGK down to PER that on Sunday 25 June was in the sky at 1131) is suggested to arrive at 1645 this afternoon local time, 45 late.

GA716, the timetabled 2355 hours very late night Friday 14 July DPS - MEL (A332 PK-GPL) did not take off until Saturday 15 at 0039 so consequent arrival should be at 0952 hours, 32 minutes late.

Friday 28 July sees GA712 (A333 PK-GHD) from CGK down to SYD estimated to arrive 116 minutes late at 1126. The returning GA713 is timetabled to depart at 1100 so a guess is it will not do so before 1245, meaning arrival at least 75 minutes late into Jakarta this evening.

Thursday 2 November 2017 sees GA717 (relatively early morning 0730 hours MEL - CGK that would see many Melbourne residents rising at 0300 to check in three hours prior) having taken off at 0823 with A333 PK-GPT. Arrival should be at 1127, 52 minutes late.

GA717 (Tuesday 14 November 2017, 0730 hours MEL - CGK, A333 PK-GPW) took off at 0821 hours. Arrival is predicted 48 minutes late at 1123 hours.

By 0745 hours on Tuesday 21 November, GA716 (A333 PK-GPR) was holding above Rokewood, Vic. It should arrive at 0810 hours, 35 minutes tardy.

Bali's Mt Agung volcano was reported as erupting (in a small way) as at 1700 hours local time on Tuesday 21 November 2017, but so far there has not been any adverse effect on flights to or from DPS or nearby Indonesian airports.

On Monday 27 November by 1030 AEDT, DPS had closed due to ongoing volcanic activity of Mt Agung so all GA flights are cancelled. The far smaller neighbouring LOK airport is also supposedly closed, though I just observed a Citilink flight that appeared to have taken off at about 1300 hours Sydney time. There is plenty of information on the Internet so I won't duplicate that here.

Suffice to say that GA (and competitors) will review the situation tonight, so it is very fluid.

This must cost airlines a lot of money as with passenger numbers building at either end - especially so given many schools or universities have broken up for the 2017 scholastic year and so holidays are uppermost in minds - relief flights will have to eventually be operated, although perhaps GA, as a smaller operator may try to rebook passengers on other airlines such as SQ via SIN.

This could be challenging as we move into December given it is (for outbound travel from Oz) a peak travel month.

Due to the allegedly imminent major eruption from Mt Agung and consequent closure of DPS, Wednesday 29 November's GA719 (0910 hours MEL - DPS) has been cancelled. I assume other GA DPS-originating or terminating flights are also getting the boot. GA's Twitter updates could be clearer.

A333 PK-GPT on GA716, the 2105 hours from CGK of Friday 1 December that did not become airborne until 0129 this morning is arriving in MEL at 1206, 271 minutes late.

GA717 (Sunday 3 December 2017 - 0730 hours MEL - CGK) took off at 0844 with A333 PK-GPX. Arrival should be at 1125, an even hour tardy.

The 0910 hours MEL - DPS (GA719, A333 PK-GPW) was airborne at 1019; arrival should be at 1253 hours, 43 late.
