For side effects read Hydroxychloroquine - Wikipedia. But the French study makes it a no brainer to say in combination with Azothyioprine. Both are easy to mass produce in a developed country(But Australia may not meet that definition). In OR terms and economic damage, ignoring overseas results is crazy.
There are 6 or so like ACE2 compounds, like gold salts that would merit testing.

I dont know that DIL SLE is induced by plaquenil? It's a treatment drug for it.

That's correct, the wheels keep turning and the BAS statements will (must) continue to be lodged.

Yes, registered that, but giving a business a credit of lets say, $2000 a month will not keep all employees employed for longer while a cash injection would!

HMRC have added a few measures like, like a bit of a payment holiday on your VAT returns but nothing major yet. None of the measures apply to my business so will carry on as is. I always operate with a bit of a war chest so have an operating buffer there, however not all of colleagues who operate Ltd companies do and extract every cent out - so they're in for a hard time if/when they lose their role.

It looks like a lot of projects in the finance industry are grinding to a halt as banks for example take a more cautious approach to how they manage change. One of my big clients will likely be standing me down in the next week or two. Fortunately I have some other work to keep me busy, but it's not a full time thing. Still, better than nothing and is more than some of my mates have.

All corporate/office based roles at my employer have had mandatory WFH since Monday 23rd, but about 70% started the Monday prior. Without connecting to the VPN we are able to use to use Microsoft Teams (for video conferences and voice calls, document sharing), Outlook for email, Workplace (office verson of face book), edit documents in owrd/excel/powepoint etc, launch citrix sessions to remote connect to test labs etc. Also those with work provided laptop (so not contractors) can also use Jira and Cunfluence, access some file servers, HR app etc with an RSA code from their phones (again no vpn).

I only connect to the VPN when i need to use certain app soo far that has just been the e-business apps (to raise purchase order or receipt goods). Then once done I disocnnect and keep on qwith everything else.

Stats form our IT guys this moring said we have had up to 4000 concurrent users on the VPN, but given there are 8000+ employees it shows lots can get buy wityhout being on the VPN.

Office have been really good about checking in on people, starting groups to make up for lack of office chit chat, they realise mental health will be a struggle for many.

Yes but if ANZ is like where i work, they havent said no VPN, they have asked people not to connect to the VPN except where abolsutely necessary. Some of my team need to be on the VPN all day because like you they do a lot of tehcnical work, but lots of others like me only need to do so on occasion fpr certain syetems which I dont use all day.

FYI a lot of the intranet sites and apps that use SSO when in the office or on VPN, just ask me to login in again and then add a RSA token code now that Im WFH off vpn - this is somethign our IT folks just added over the last week or so.

Sounds like an...... interesting/somewhat insecure setup! While we also have MFA (using RSA) for certain things, it will only work from the company laptop; this is for DLP. Although things like Teams, Office 365 etc. are web accessible, the logon won't work from a personal machine. With Citrix I suspect it may have an SSL VPN sitting in the background creating a secure connection.

So it takes any GST payable into account then? That's great if so.
No
You are correct it does not take GST into account in determining the amount, it is based on income tax payments withheld.

However the credit can be applied to GST payable amounts.

The are some examples in the link I posted but here's another one.

An eligible SME with 2 employees submits a quarterly BAS on April 28th comprised of $2,900 PAYG income tax withheld and $2,500 for GST. They would ordinarily need to pay $5,400. However since the assistance based on withheld tax amounts would be less than $10,000, the minimum $10,000 credit occurs.

Once that is applied the general account would be $4,600 in credit with nothing further payable.

Coming into this conversation at page 25, so forgive me for my tardiness. I wanted to relate to any comment regarding the effectiveness of the COVID-19 swab. Here is my story:

We traveled as a family SYD-BNE-LAX-LAX-SYD in January/February. Before the C-19 pandemic had really been identified as a global threat.

During our time in the USA, I developed a sore throat. I bought some Tylenol and throat lozenges and didn't think any more of it. The cough persisted and eventually, I had all the usual symptoms of a very nasty cold: sore throat, runny nose, aches & pains etc. I kept taking over the counter meds until we returned to Oz 3 weeks later. Within 7 days of returning - I got quite sick. Huge problems breathing, a crackling sound when I took a breath, massive coughing and extreme fatigue.

I went to our local GP 4 times in the space of a month. In mid February, the first doctor said I was jet lagged and just needed to eat right. One week later a second doctor prescribed antibiotics and Ventolin. I consulted him again and he ordered X-rays and bloods to exclude blood clots and whooping cough. He also prescribed stronger antibiotics and swabbed my throat (not the back of my nasal canal) for Coronavirus. My bloods showed higher than normal indicators for clots so I had to have a CT scan, which (thankfully) came up negative. Also a negative reading for COVID-19, however I am mystified by the revelation that the test is supposed to be performed via the nasal canal, which mine was not.

I wasn't any better after another week - so another trip to the GP who finally diagnosed a non-influenza virus.

I could not sleep with this horrible condition. It hurt to breathe and I was constantly suffering a temperature, wheezing, sneezing, coughing or bedridden with all four. I have no idea what I had, but if COVID-19 was anything like it, I think we are all in trouble. I was told I did NOT have Coronavirus. I lost a month off work. I also have no idea how many hundreds of people I came into contact with.

So now I am recovered and back to 100% - how do I feel?

Really guilty. I had something insidious and I realize that even my GP's couldn't figure it out. January/February in Australia was still a very confusing time for this pandemic and I now believe that confusion was creating havoc with getting a proper diagnosis. Perhaps the test was not performed correctly. Whatever it was, I remember wishing I could pass out and wake up a month later. I hope to God it was not COVID-19. My family haven't caught anything from me. Interestingly, my Chinese neighbors (who's elderly father traveled to Hawaii in January to catch up with relatives from mainland China) are currently in self-exclusion from what they describe as a bout of the 'flu. They've been inside now for 3 weeks and it's passed through their whole family.

To say I am concerned is an understatement.

Runny nose, aches and pains with a pleuritic chest pain with a normal CXR and CT scan means this is very unlikely to be a Covid-19 infection.May have been a common cold due to another corona virus though.

There are different CV19 tests, and they can be taken in different ways. The new antibody test is one where 500,000 will be in Australia within a week. It is however not as accurate as the lab tests. On the plus side it does not need the reagents which are in short supply and so can be massed produced , and hence now deployed more readily. It may be used as say an initial screen with the more accurate labs test to confirm positives.

What tests are available?
There are two main ways to test for infection with SARS-CoV2 (the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 disease). The first is a very sensitive test that looks for the RNA of the virus using a technique called RT-PCR. This can detect as little as one virus particle in swabs taken from inside the mouth or nose.

A second type of test measures the antibody responses to virus in blood serum. There are many virus components that our bodies make many different antibodies against. Some antibody is very useful, and kills the virus or stops infection, and some is less useful, binding to common parts of the virus but without helping our defences.

I wonder if Italy or America will surpass China in the CV stakes according to the Johns Hopkins map :

My bet is America.

If America lie about their numbers like China, then they can certainly stay lower!

But seriously... it will most likely be India or Indonesia or some other 3rd world over-populated country that is yet to really appear as they aren't very forthcoming with data. Why, Bali has had more deaths than it has had cases!!! That's quite a trick!

The Chinese it appears are only reporting numbers from Wuhan. Whilst also starting a smear campaign that America was the one that started the spread of the virus (while they were silencing their own whistle-blowers). So, in a competition as rigged as that, is it actually fair to even compare?

But in answer to your question, America will certainly overtake the 3 countries you named on paper because it is bigger and pretty transparent with its reporting.

You did read the warnings about doses though I hope!

What do people think the political fallout will be after this? Obviously not an enviable job for anyone, but it seems to me that our lacklustre politicians are making an even bigger mess of it.... their inability to communicate effectively, lecture us like children with the attitude of "OMG don't you know what to do in a global pandemic?? How dumb are you people". Scotty seems to be really unpopular with anyone I talk to... and Dan Andrews... man oh man....

This in the paper...

“I’m being upfront with people. There will be a stage three,” Mr Andrews said.
But he would not speculate on what measures would come in the next stage of restrictions.

How on earth is that even helpful? That is just scaremongering. If there is a stage 3 - tell us. Don't be a man of mystery about it because pretty much everyone is over it.

At least we know he'll be gone at the next election (as will they all). As history tells us that people blame the rulers at the time, reagrdless of reason. So for the millions of people without jobs, the next time the election comes around, all they will remember is " that is the man that destroyed my life".

And the Prime Minister lecturing us on toilet paper hoarding.... when was the last time he even went into a supermarket? I am sure lockdown for 2 weeks in Kirribilli house is just awful .....

Am I the only one who is frustrated that our politicians seem completely out of touch?

I don’t know about being the only one, but I’m over people who just keep blaming politicians.

By all means, run next time and show us how it should be done, while being publicly excoriated each and every day and blamed for everything that goes wrong.

I am finding this a good place for getting stats - don’t know if it’s been posted before. If you click on USA you can a breakdown by states

I think that post was more about balance.

The difference in death rates is staggering. I'm thinking the US is artificially high because they just don't test properly.
