Don't try this at home!

Sounds like a challenge ... Damn, I don't have any neodymium magnets handy. :(

I particularly like this bit (I'm giving the article the benefit of the doubt, and being real - its more fun that way). Astrophysicist uses google and experience of an 11 year old to solve his problem ...

“After struggling for 20 minutes, I decided to Google the problem and found an article about an 11-year-old boy who had the same problem. The solution in that was more magnets. To put on the outside to offset the pull from the ones inside.

“As I was pulling downwards to try and remove the magnets, they clipped on to each other and I lost my grip. And those two magnets ended up in my left nostril while the other one was in my right. At this point I ran out of magnets.”

Foxtel are very excited about the recent Government announcement. From a total non accounting person it sounds like a true lifeline for businesses. Thoughts? Pitfalls? (PS "Scotty - from Marketing" comments not helpful).

Spectacular figures yesterday and so far today..
What if we have nailed it to a steady flow of infection , what then ?
How can they open things up without risking an infection landslide?
Otoh.. how can they keep us all cooped up , unemployed, bored , brawling with the missus and kids…
Inevitably , folks will start to complain, the media will stir the pot, civil disobedience will escalate .. followed by an infection landslide

That was my question of a few pages ago. What if by some miracle we can contain it. What do we do next?

I wonder how we can open our borders considering countries like the USA continue to climb.

When and if this thing is under control in AU, I would have thought the first steps would be, yes we accept people from over seas if :

1. You have been vaccinated/fully recovered and can prove it with a conclusive antibody test before you get on the plane to come here.
or
2a. 14 days in an airport hotel at your own expense with guards to ensure you stay there. 2b. Signed agreement to be vaccinated while you are at the hotel. 2c. Antibody test before you leave the hotel after 14 days.

I listened to Paul Kelly today and he was asked that question. He said they were starting to work on an exit strategy, but got the impression way too early to really think about it. Their first goal is to contain community transmission.

We are way off even thinking about that!

I was just reading about the 34 cluster cases in the Barossa area. 😳

There has to be some kind of strategy.
We all must get it and recover (..or not :(), there is no scenario where it just goes away , or am I missing something.
Ergo there needs to be a carefully controlled infection programme.. what fun...

I wondered where does an employer start? Would there be a link to register for the assistance.

Hmm.. but I was hoping they might still pay a tiny dividend.. this kind of stuff isn't heading in that direction.
Banks are supposed to be rapacious money making machines.. that's why I have their shares.. sheeesh

just had a dividend deferred to October - at this rate I don't need to worry about covid-19 - will just die of cold in winter or starvation :( Master FM might be sending money to support us and his sister .....
