Cove's issue is not an ongoing health issue but a traveller issue. That is why travel doctors are helpful; they give you appropriate antibiotics and the information when travelling. Travel illness requires a completely different treatment approach.
These aren't "Travel Doctors" as I understand that term. I agree that the issue sounded as if it was well handled by the Dr who attended.
Travel Medicine is a subspecialty in itself.

I understood what you said. Agreed it's not good to pee on a seat but what I don't understand is why any male would leave the seat down in a male toilet. It isn't a case of someone not putting the seat down after doing a pee when they are standing up, it was a case of not bothering to lift the seat before doing a pee, do I have to be anymore descriptive than this?
Not the first time I have seen this, some males are disgusting......
Mrscove got sick on Saturday night with a gastro bug in Sydney on this long weekend. I was very grateful that I could get a doctor to come to our place to get her a shot and some medication. Certainly glad we didn't try the 5 hour flight back to Perth on Sunday. Could have been more than a bit messy on the plane. Naturally I have been a tower of strength under the "in sickness and health" deal.
Surprisingly the doctor was free and the medication he carried saved me having to find an all night pharmac_. Apparently our medical group in Perth are subscribers to an Australia wide GP after hours service. That was wonderful news.
Thank you for coming Dr Tom. He even wrote the treatment in legible hand writing....wow!

And I have also seen the cover down many times. Too busy to flush and lift cover and seat for next person?
The problem is there are people who have grown up with different bathroom habits and have not adjusted these habits to this environnent.
So 2 weeks since my ankle injury.I have been lucky as basically walking normally within 3 days but a setback with cellulitis.Antibiotics now finished.Slight swelling and pain only on dorsiflexion or lateral movement of foot.
but I am being a good boy and have an apt with my GP.Just in case.
But why not raise the seat and lid when flush complete? Over the years I have seen way too many surprises I don't need to see.I hope you now understand why some males are just in the habit of lowering seat and lid before flushing, no-matter where they are, as it is a good practice.
But why not raise the seat and lid when flush complete?
Glad mrscove is on the mend.
Definitely best not to travel when unwell. I made that mistake once on a 7 hour segment. I was fine for the first half hour, then it was one of the worst 6 hour periods of my life.
Ooh no, not want you want at all
The sprained ankle epidemic continues. Apparently Master FM has now sprained his ankle and it has been put in a splint. Seems a bit dramatic, but maybe it is standard in the US, or maybe it was badly sprained.
I think I can say my ankle is finally 100% healed - I can now flex my toes backwards, without pain - so approx 11 weeks.
I used to wonder why people dropped towels on the floor behind the exit door in public toilets. I'm a bit slow, but now I reckon it is so that they can use a paper towel to open the door and then if the bin is not close enough, on to the floor it goes.
WTF? I don't hang around that long as flushing is the last thing I do before exiting. Do you hang around and wait for the flushing to stop so you can raise the seat and lid?

Having just done 11 hours from GYE (and then 2.5 waiting for bags....) I resemble this remark. Worst 13.5 hours. Ever.
