General Medical issues thread

She is very difficult and I'm not going to force her to do anything she does not want to do.

We give her vita gummies each day so she be getting enough vitamins and minerals.

She loves cheese, sausage, ham, rice, noodles, egg and potato, banana, avocado, some apple and occasionally eats meat.

Looks like she will be quite short but other than that she is developing like any normal child. She is very bright. Well above average. Teachers in prep have already noticed she answers questions quicker than any of the other kids similar to her dad at same age.

The world is at her feet but think she wants to get into fashion. She already knows more about fashion, make-up etc than most adults.

She will have a very eclectic choice of food as she grows up - Greek from your side and Thai from her mum's.
Goodness the time has flown as I remember when she was born!

I still remember like yesterday flying into SYD and flying back out to BKK that night and meeting her when she was 2 days old.

She's not so much into Greek but she has picked up Thai quite quickly in 3 months. House should be ready August and they'll more than likely be back here in October for last term of prep. She misses the friends she has made at school.

Our daughter was tiny until her 18th b'day. People who knew her couldn't believe it was the same girl when she came home from uni.

That's good news.

She's nearly 6 years old and only 106cm. She's about 25-30cm short of average growth.

I worry a lot. I feel sorry for her as life is not kind to short or fat people. But it is what it is and something we cannot change.

I’m confused. 106 for five year old seems fine. 130 cms is the size of an average 8 year old. Or am I completely 🤪

Me too now.

She's 5y9m now but 3 months ago in prep she was close to the shortest in class but one of the oldest in class. Need to review again when she returns in October.

P.S. In Thailand last week an Anglo Saxon was arriving from UK Friday night and his daughter along with Thai mum came to the golf restaurant to have dinner waiting for him to arrive. She has red hair and is 11 months younger than my daughter but noticeably much taller.

You need to stop comparing with individuals you see or you will go mad. Some kids will be faster swimmers. Others better at maths. Average means half will be taller and half shorter. Genetics are important for height. Just focus on what your daughter is and not what she isn’t. She seems perfectly in height for her age right now.

Will go mad? That implies sometime in the future?

It's natural for parents to show concern. Part of life. I'd be more worried if I wasn't concerned. And note we worry more about the things we cannot control.

Now how do I slow down time in this simulation? I know there's a way. I've done it. Just not consistently.

I'm O- , but not able to donate yet because of the UK ban. I plan to donate, once that changes.
I thought they had changed that or is it still in the pipeline

just checked and it’s still going through the processes

I'm not having much luck lately.

- Gastroenteritis in Thailand early June
- Cold/flu on return from Thailand lasting at least 21 days but I still feel there's issues in the lungs. Went through 30 Amoxycillin tablets
- past few days have picked another infection possibly UTI. Kidneys must be working overtime as I can feel severe pain there sometime. 7 day course of triprim

There hasn't been any break between the 3 of them so it has been continuous infections.

Doctor called me on Sunday. No bacteria and no evidence of fungal cultures.

Now Im confused. Have been feeling much better now. 24 hour virus?
