General Medical issues thread

I think @drron reported on his experience obtaining a booking quite some time ago?
Also barium scan @Pushka ? @drron ?

Before I commenced chemo I needed a pet-scan. Took around 10 days and alot of agitation to get one. Without it I was not able to commence chemo.

I am about to start IVIG as my immunity remains low. Friday I have my next Rituximab infusion, only 20 to go after this one.

Good luck and be kind to yourself @prozac ❤️

Thank you @MARTINE . I am looking after myself. Some most days I think I am not productive enough. I expressed this to my specialist yesterday and that I was doing more through chemo. She replied that was the steroi_s. :)
Ah yes steroi_s — they do put a bit of rev in the engine. Never feel the need to be productive (especially during chemo). Set your own benchmark - if you get out of bed and have a shower - everything else is a bonus.

Was chainsawing trees for a neighbour, trimming hedges, mowing lawns. Hardly done any of that since I finished chemo.

I've reached a stage where my own conditions are helping me look after patients.
Yesterday, I effortlessly interrogated a patient's CPAP machine to see if he was using it properly
(He wasn't)

This thread isn't for our pets' maladies, is it? :p Joking!!

The Teen has started doing some exercise this term - yes, intentional exercise, not just the occasional 1km alk home from the bus stop (when there aren't late activities at school or appts afterwards). Seems to have enjoyed herself, and is actually following the GP and Physio's advice to do some kind of exercise with her last round of mystery pain (foot/leg last term).
Her school has a gym and a trainer or something, and she's doing a 45m session once a week that seems to be a circuit of weight-based and cardio.

Hopefully this helps her gain some strength and confidence!

(Oh, and the dog is on antibiotics and had a jab for suspected allergies yesterday as he's been licking his groin non-stop for days - just wanted to clarify my Teen and my pet are two distinct beings!! :P)
