General Medical issues thread

Exercise is a common cause of hip pain especially a tendinopathy. a lay persons article-

Thanks for the link, something to read up on and gives me some good exercises to help alleviate any problems.

Actually during the marathon, I had different parts of my body complaining, the hip starting getting sore after 5kms but stopped after 10-15kms and then other parts started hurting, like my 2nd big toe, by the end of the race everything was hurting.

A day after I got a COVID booster
CovidVax = amazing efficacy in reducing the severity of Covid in the unvaccinated older and sicker population but it does not prevent a Covid infection.
which lead to the comment that the Professor made:

My choice to vaccinate is about protecting the vulnerable people around me.
The Professor still hangs on to this erroneous idea. There is no evidence that Vaccination reduces transmission. The trials that led to Vaccine approvals did NOT include trials that examined whether the Vaccine could reduce transmission. It would have been simple to do.

We routinely get a booster - just assumed that that was what one did :)
I’m over 12 months out for a booster but have had so many weird respiratory things in the last 3 months that possibly had covid but didn’t test. And there was most definitely something going round in Bali as reported by all the locals. Lots of masks.

I’m now on the turmeric supplements and I’m just thinking that maybe these things might actually work. Still trying to quit steroi_s and am missing a day alternately and my ‘indicator’ arm is staying blessedly pain free. And that is unusual.

I'm not following anyone's advice.

I've now had 6 vaccinations. Everyone telling me to stop. As usual I don't care. Wife has had 3 vaccinations and she doesn't want anymore. Daughter none.

I still wear a mask most times in crowded areas. People cannot be trusted. Must be getting close to next booster. Would be easier if they combined with flu vaccine.

We, Mrsprozac and I, have refrained from further boosters. There is no explanation for the tumour in my chest and MrsProzac has developed memory issues only since our 4 covid vaccinations. Call me crazy if you like, but not unless you have another explanation.

Edit: If one had to come up with a positive aspect to chemo I'd have to say the hair growing out the bridge of my nose stopped growing and I didn't have to pull out every month. But now it's back.

I must say, I am very pro vaccination. But - for me - my jury isn't decided just yet as to whether or not I'm in fully to the Covid vaccinations at this time.

Ongoing use of high strength medical chemicals does seem to have some unusual side effects with regards to hair. A workmate had a kidney transplant and his rapidly balding head showed significant hair regrowth after he started on the anti-rejection drugs. Even though I am very much approaching the bald as a badger stage I don't think that option is something I would choose in order to run my fingers through my hair again.

We had the initial 4 vaccinations...but then I got this tumour and reassessed the whole vax thing. I am not anti-vax per se, just on the sidelines now regards covid vax.

Recent report is interesting, not sure of the reality but interesting.
