About 2 weeks ago I started getting shin pain usually caused from too much running, well I am training for a marathon, so last week suggested I should get a massage. The next day the shin pain was still there but the other end of the of the leg I started getting hip pain.

That pain ended up getting worse so on Thursday I had trouble getting out of bed, lucky I found a physio who was able to identify the problem and give me some exercises to do, I see them again tomorrow. Lets hope this pain goes away so I can at least finish, need to run/jog it in 6:30 usually have finished between 4:05 to 4:40

With my mobility problems I often have problems getting out of a chair or even out of bed. Last Friday was particularly bad and took me 3 attempts to get out of bed. Between using my hands both to lever myself up and break my fall when I collapsed back onto the bed I managed to sprain my right wrist. quite tender over tendon to left ring finger.

Then on Saturday a good day so outside and pruned our Brazilian cherries. So woke at ~ 1.30 am with a very painful right wrist and basically no more sleep. Thought I had just overdone the exercised and hoped it would settle before we take off to New Zealand. Around midday the wrist was obviously swollen, red, hot and very tender. penny dropped. Gout. 3 colchicine later only the not s o severe sprain.

Once the rot starts it doesn't stop?

Wife started getting pain in her fingers and knuckles with some swelling. Luckily doesn't last long, around 3 minutes. Saw rheumatology during the week and she is now off Plaquenil and onto 10mg Methotrexate + Folic Acid. Rheumatologist suspects/confirms Rheumatoid arthritis.

She's also getting lower back pain with that initially going down the left leg but now both legs. She had some sort of back operation ~20 years ago but now getting worse again. The ultrasound she had last year on her kidneys when she was in hospital for UTI shows wear and tear around S1 - L2 but also one of her discs have moved forward.

And we still don't know why all her toes and part of the feet are constantly numb.

Because of the finding of disc prolapse which is impinging on her nerve roots or spina; cord. An MRI would confirm that thought. If the MRI showed no pressure in those areas a Nerve Conduction study to see if she has a peripheral neuropathy.

I had a discectomy in my thirties as the L5 S1 disc didn't just prolapse, on surgery they found that the entire disc had been squeezed into the spinal canal. I was in a serious lot of trouble before the surgery with no right leg function, no reflex in my calf - they were jabbing me with 'needles' to get my reaction which never came. When I woke from surgery, there in a specimen bottle was a 2/3 spinal disc that was lodged. Specialist said I was extremely fortunate and wrote in his report 'extremely lucky that this patient has a capacious spinal canal'. What a way with words he had. And thirty years later my right little toe is numb and I have no ankle reflex so told my doctor to make sure that reflex was never used to assess death 😱

Just had left hip injection for bursitis - got 15+ years out of the last one 🤞
After months of Physio, I had an injection in my right hip for bursitis.
It was like magic stopped the pain after a day. (This was 4 years ago.

Late last year I had an injection in my left shoulder for bursitis. Sadly this did not work, (I was sure after the great results from the hip procedure).

So now I'm back to the physio, which has helped a little but still quite a bit of pain in the arm and in the money pocket!

That hip-pocket nerve suffers esp. when the physio tells you that you will need 6 visits.

Is NDIS medical?
Dear deities, we called them as I haven't been able to make claims for the Teen's support since she turned 18 (and we didn't have NDIS linked to her My Gov). 20 mins on the phone and I feel like we got nowhere.

Now to visit the LAC to do the paperwork required in person (ID needs to be sighted).

I just feel that much simpler communication can be used with participants rather than all the bureaucratic terms - never mind telling a parent or caregiver that things will change when the participant turns 18. We haven't heard from our LAC since just after the initial plan was approved.
