I like those eco disposable ones.
Just a tad concerned about suggesting them when I am the mil of the mum
Have to say I would happily pay for them whilst needed
Maybe buy a box as a gift and then if they liked them you could take out a subscription as another gift - then you are not suggesting anything, just giving presents :)

One word of advice. Tread. Very. Carefully. Even about offering to pay. Especially about that. And I also have to be careful about presents. But I’d also suggest it’s a bit of an unusual situation I think here. MIL’s can have a tricky path.

Had a bit of a laugh this week. Months ago I’d said I really like the jogger style prams (3 wheel style) but was informed they were quite unstable. This week - “can you collect this (3 wheel jogger style) stroller for me please.“. I had a bit of a giggle with the lady when collecting it (and I’d driven across the city in 40 degree heat as it was the last one in SA) and she replied with a knowing smile (she was a little younger than me) “Yes, what would you know about raising children! “

Oh yes we had similar. We went shopping with son and pregnant Dil. They were adamant they needed the baby carrier part of the pram. We did suggest maybe they didn't....nope they definitely would use it.
The carrier was used three times and about three months ago the comment was made "we really didn't need that part of the pram "

Yes it’s much easier with a daughter than a DIL. :). At the moment I am only doing things when she asks. She seems to be quite happy for me to research things for her and then let her make the final decision. :)

Being home I have no excuse to not pick photos to put up in our bedroom
How do other grandparents pick ?
We have one child and one grandchild
I was thinking young photos of son and grandbaby
We have family photos of son his wife and grandbaby downstairs
Snapfish have an amazing deal on canvas prints at the moment so that is also encouraging for empty stairwell walls

We haven’t got as far as grandchildren photos yet :). We had a wonderful photographer in Canberra called Heide Smith and she did photographs of the kids when they were all under 12 and another set 5 years later. Have those all framed and up on the walls. Then of course there were all the uni graduation photos, which I ordered but haven’t got round to framing. Ran out of enthusiasm for big photos on the wall so they can have those. :)

I have a small marble table that has just 7 photos in silver frames. Our 40th wedding photo. Photo of son and DIL as a couple and another with the family group; photo of the four men in my life - hubby, two sons, and grandson, taken two days after birth, a solo photo of grandson, and a solo photo of currently single son and a footprint of grandson. I have two candles on each end and I often think it looks like a tiny altar! 😂

Phew found this thread
Grandson will be two at Xmas. Trying to get him a book that his parents will hate I mean love :) so thinking of a cookbook :)
Anyone found a decent one for toddlers ?.I see sesame Street has one out

DIL is using eco nappies still on 14 month old but disposables overnight. Having now changed several I think they are great.
You talking about modern cloth nappies? Ms FM is using them in the day time as well and disposables at night. She tried the eco original nappies (which are also disposables but fully degradable), but unfortunately they didn’t work for her. Tended to leak but then Bub was very tiny. She is using Rascal & friend for the night time disposable.

I have to change a mcn but they do seem way easier than the triangle with pins :)
