Have you had a tipple or 2 already......is a nice comfy lounge, but that's quite a wrap.

I've been there, but is the F&B any better than other VA lounges?

Nope! The same cough I had in Sydney last night This is such a very obvious area of improvement, they need to get a move on.

How good would it be if VA had airline partners for intra-Europe flights! I love that they're spruiking Qatar flights to Europe but once you're there it's like, nah don't know you

There are actually some reasonable wines made in QLD especially in the Stanthorpe region.

Sat in 2F on a flight today. Pax in 2D and I were asked for our choice of meals first.

That was a surprise! Can't ever say I've seen row 2 asked for their meal choice before row 1, then again I don't fly J much with VA these days.

Flying today and same thing occurred on our flight. We’re in 1A and 1C but we were then served the food first. Not sure how that worked out but happy with however it happens.

Happened to me also on MEL-PER the other day. Are they actively looking to see who is platinum and asking first by any chance?

Not sure, I’m platinum but got a late upgrade from the lounge staff.

Possibly. But as i’ve reported previously, one CM had the only two platinums in the cabin circled, and deliberately went around asking every other passenger first what they wanted, coming back to the platinums last.

The two platinums weren’t sitting together… weren’t even in the same row. So there was quite a dance to avoid us.

Other CMs have said they felt like giving non platinums a chance to have first choice… ‘just because’.

Oh, I know the answer to this one! The official policy is whichever J seat I have will be the last one asked. Aisle, window, row 1 or 2, dusnmatta, I'm last.

Interestingly enough, whenever I'm in J I've always been asked first (I'm normally always 2A), not sure if time as a plat matters but I'm into my 8th year now.

Just finished 8 flights with VA over the last 2 weeks.

Noticing that the weighing of cabin baggage during boarding is becoming a lot more frequent, especially of wheelie and oversized bags.

If the opposition is 10kg ..why can't VA at least match it or have some compassion for us in biz and platinum holders. Don't really fancy checking in something at 8kg or so.

Because QF folk follow and are used to having one small bag tagged for under the seat Infront meanwhile pax on VA are throwing tantrums with complying.

Plus more weight = fuel = money.

Cabin baggage for OTP is a red herring.

The #1 issue is poor scheduling, and allowing as little as 35 mins for a turn-around, or assuming they can start boarding 10 mins after the previous flight arrives.

It’s also a management decision not to provide the crew with training and authority to make announcements to speed up boarding as pax board… for example, an announcement to tell pax not to block aisles, or to allow those waiting to pass.

Has anyone redeemed a rewards VA SYD - DPS J before? We have Y booked for 7th April for 3pax (2 adults, 1 infant) rewards but wondering if its worth keeping an eye on J availability. Checking a lot of dates cant see any rewards seats, just full fare.
