General Virgin Australia Lounge Discussion

Well… I’ve been in the test planes with the ‘new’ seats a few times. Leg rest useless unless you are about 4 foot. And at least one of them already broken with the seat back not properly locking. So I’d give the refurbished seats about 2 years :(
So not long after IPO things may start to fail.

I've heard and read stories on QF metal where the J seats are broken and the passenger had to move down the back in Y.
Now that's really shocking.

Yes well. I didn’t mention it for exactly that reason! :(

Same with twisted seatbelts…how the crew doesn’t notice when they’re crossing them over? But I only mention it after landing!

You seem to have quite a few problems when travelling with VA?
Simply a function of the number of flights… almost 80 this year.

Delays 75% of the time. Problems with other stuff around 25%. Hopefully only one issue on any given fright, but sometimes you get multiples, and then it’s not much fun :(

Standards have gone downhill.
MEL VAd lounge, item on the other side of plug not removed.
Half an hour already.
Food is OK, but no wow factor.
Can see why QF is better for lunch.

No oomph to clean up.

Adelaide was a new build as the lounge moved during a terminal expansion.
Yes very true, good point, although it was the intention that all lounges would get the same aesthetic look as Adelaide, but Covid messed all of that up :/
Adelaide was lucky that the new one started before Covid AND completed after the Bain takeover :)
At least Melbourne got a little love.
Would love to see Sydney get some attention but I don't suspect that'll happen until Bain offloads it.

I just made it to Silver and I was wondering if there is any way to verify that I now have the two lounge passes on my account?

I was hoping to make sure I had them before booking another flight for me and one other person (where I would use them)

Brisbane lounge was all single use cups/bowls/plates and cutlery this morning. There are signs up about upgrades in the background hence the change in service.

Unfortunately no dice… It shows this screenshot…

And then when I click View benefits, it just takes me to the generic Velocity page about the benefits associated with Silver.

Looks like I might need to give them a call…

That's how it was on Saturday morning. Back of house refurbished affecting ability to wash plates/cutlery. Unfortunately the paper plates are cake size...and not Mr Hawk cake size either 😑😑

I’m flying out of Brisbane on VA again this Friday so will be interesting to see if that’s still the case. The sign says “next few days” ?
