Great photos. You're inspiring me to do a road trip

Us as well, also, does hubby put his photos online anywhere? If so can you post a link, please?

When he eventually gets to the photos he does put them online but he's currently working on his NT photos from three years ago .

We enjoyed our drive from Melbourne to Adelaide via Great Ocean Road, Coonawarra and then through Coonalpyn and the wineries at Christmas. Something different.

We checked into the Country Inn at Warracknabeal and it reminds me of a 80s motel with brick exposed walls and timber panelling but clean and comfy and enjoyed a well earned Nana nap as last night was woken many times by crying toddler in the next room.

As big breakfast was more brunch, dinner we shared a fish and chips (2 fillets is standard) at the nearby Creekside Hotel. A really nice place to sit by the fire or in summer outside by the creek.

Salt and pepper squid.

No Brim night photos as it's overcast and VERY windy. Edit, and now raining.

Hrs of driving and nothing to see or view, just hectares of farms and then we see the magic words, Bakery.

It depends on what you mean by 'nothing'. Having grown up in that part of the world, and even other places such as our recent trip to the top end, just watching the changing landscape (even if not a lot changes -think heather in Scotland) as you travel through it is part of the journey.

This morning we enjoyed a truckers breakfast at the nearby truck stop, hubby said there was beetroot on his burger, and we headed out to Sheep Hills. Pity we didn't put that in the GPS because we were half way to Horsham before we admitted we missed a turn off but 30mins later....

I'm telling myself the detour gave us time for a storm to blow over and get some blue skies.

Unlike the other silos, this isn't on the side of the main road, you have to take a smaller turnoff to get to it, very much out of the way.

When the sun hits it, it actually is.

I wonder how the artist got the detail required in the size needed. Did he get up and down a cheery picker constantly?

I also wonder what this local farmer thought, having to hold the stick for the portrait.

Yep, big pieces like this mean you'll be up and down constantly, making reference marks and then checking the scale. Some artists will grid the wall and reference an image with the same grid overlaid on that.

The Patchewollock hotel included a continental breakfast but it was a full night so we decided to not fight our way to the toaster and will hunt for breakfast elsewhere... Eventually arriving in Hopetoun.

My husband was getting pretty hangry by this point but he was soon his usual smiling self because he saw the magic words, Big Breakfast.

I liked the signage.

Now that's a breakfast

Laugh at my Stick Shed obsession but this is cool. It's worthy of being valued, largest of its kind in the world (there was one twice as big next to it but destroyed), built at a very different time.

They have open days once per month but I emailed and got a private viewing. $10 per adult.

Is the shed actually used for anything?
Not anymore. GrainCorp tried to tear it down in 1989 as no longer financially viable but Heritage slapped a protective order on it then the locals wanted to save and restore. They have monthly open days with local markets, 150+ yesterday.

They have had small acoustic performances, which would be cool.
