Yes they do pink slips and I think they charge $29. I will look in the price list when I get a chance later on today.

Re: Not enough FlyBuys points - so what good is it?

After 2 years in it I got a crate of 12 wines for approx 10,000 points, that seemed alright to me. I never thought that Fly Buys would be good for flights, I only use my QFF for international flights and J upgrades, FB domestic is a waste I reckon.

Cheers... not many fly buys, but I need to go shopping, and a pink slip to park the car would be useful. (Amazing what topics come up online, at the same time you are paying car bills.)

Re: Not enough FlyBuys points - so what good is it?

It is funny..... I am considering changing my regular car park as Virgin now have a deal with a car parking firm... will have to see how they compare with costs and location etc....

A new thread about car parking could come from this... I find that MEL it is quicker and easier to park off airport grounds than the local airport parking..

Yes, but long term has improved considerably with the introduction of the new larger buses that pick up / drop off passengers in the one loop. Would often wait for up to 15 minutes for the smaller buses, but now rarely wait more than 5 now.

Checked the price list and it is $30.10 for pink slip, 5% off for staff discount. Still not too bad if you want to go shopping....

Re: Not enough FlyBuys points - so what good is it?

 It seems pink slip means something different in Australia?

I am thinking it must mean something different on the east coast.

More specifically, it seems to have a special meaning in NSW. In Qld, a pink slip is something purchased at a lingerie store (and I have no idea how much they cost :p ).

Re: Not enough FlyBuys points - so what good is it?

 Yes, getting my pink slip from Kmart in NSW, isn't as racy as it might seem if I asked for one in another state/NZ.

Thanks for price JohnK, seems pretty standard.

It is a registration inspection report needed for vehicles over 3 years of age. The colour of the document is pink, hence the word pink slip.

The green slip, different to the pink slip, is needed for compulsory third party personal injury insurance. And yes you guessed it the colour of the green slip is green.

And when you have both of these documents you can get your vehicle registered for another 12 months.

And of course not necessary in QLD and VIC where annual vehicle inspections are not required for registration renewal ;)

In NZ the warrant of fitness documentation is dealt with by the garage that does the inspection, and ACC no fault system covers 3rd party injury claims. No need for pink, green or other coloured slips of paper.

In WA to get a pink slip was to open your pay packet (when cash was king) or an envelope attached to your salary notiuce and find a termination notice, also called a DCM (dont come Monday)

& of course, when paychecks stopped being cash/cheque and became direct deposits, the salary disbursement notice enclosed was renamed -

"Job Satisfaction Certificate"! :p
