Hello all,

Looking for some advice here.

I bought 4 gift cards today ($100 each)
Afterwards, I checked on the jetstar.com/gifts website and there is an issuance of $100 and the balance was updated to $100.

I tried to book a flight on jetstar.com.au
On the payment page, I put in the gift card details and clicked apply. It was thinking for a second, then nothing happened and the payment amount did not change. I tried with all 4 gift cards. I wasn't able to do the booking.

I tried to book again, but this time when I put in the gift card details it said "no funds available".
I check on the jetstar.com/gifts website and now the balance is $0.

Essentially I have had $400 disappear into thin air.

I gave Jetstar a call and after an hour on the phone they think it is an activation problem and I need to wait 48 hours.
I have sent through a feedback form as well.
On the jetstar.com/gifts website it says status:active, though.

Has this happened to anyone?
Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Not me but I hope you get a positive resolution. Did you take any screenshots and have you had an update from OC?

Sorry to hear about what happened. Does your gift card transaction history list a 'redemption'? It may be that the booking system has taken the funds in error rather than the issue being an activation problem. Mine were activated instantly at the time of purchase and I had no problems using multiple cards to book a flight. I hope you can eventually get through to someone at Jetstar who can solve the issue for you.

Hello all,

Called again after 48 hours and waited an hour for agent to decide what was wrong. They don't know, so it must have been an error on the system...
Either way, they said they would look into it and 36 hours later gave me a call saying the funds were put back in - flights are now booked an i won't be buying anymore gift cards!

The other problem is the fare I wanted is now 30 dollars more expensive... so it was an expense in the end.

Thanks all

Curious to know if these gift cards were purchased at a supermarket?

I had something similar happen with a voucher, error and I couldn't use it, the fare went up. Jetstar gave me the lower fare, but this was done before purchase.
