Gift Cards at Supermarkets

So if I purchase a EFTPOS gift card from Australia Post I can not use that EFTPOS card in their store?

Because these workers are lazy and do not want to do work, and/or their or managers interpretation of the rules are wrong.

"oh you again.. when do these end?, Now young man next time you buy these please go to the bigger checkout, I don't want to have to call me to come over and for me to approve these each time.""

The above has nothing to do with my attitude nor anything else, it is customer service and it is failing.

Customer service in other countries is next to none, they are willing to help out people esp when bargains or such are to be had. No wonder Brownen biship and Sussan ley have an error of judgement.

EDIT: (Side note Australia Post) - The system allows, it it is just Human's do not allow it for whatever fraud reason. However if you dont want the system to work you should invest in money to prevent it or check each time per person. Look at your CEO making 5.8million a year yet postage costs have gone up almost double in a long time and the wait times and the we missed you delivery slip even when you are home cards, and/or the fake ebay satchels that are going around, you do not care. https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2587548

Yes they are. But this isn't the case, they refuse Gift Card EFTPOS, but not other forms of EFTPOS. This is more questionable IMO.

My apologies deva22, I realised I was a bit vague in that part of my post and must have edited it at the same time you posted!

Nevertheless, Australia Post can refuse any payment method they like. Whether or not the customer likes the refusal is a different matter.

I understand that, refusal is fine. However it is inconsistent across all stores, why is this?
What if I purchased a Westfield Gift Card from a Australia Post (that resides within a Westfield). Will they deny me using that? It is just not logical and abused that they can sell one product then refuse to allow it.

I wasnt even paying a bill, I was purchasing a retail product. My shock horror!

*sigh*

Yeah fair enough. Technically they are not legally allowed to refuse cash (although that's outside of what we're talking about here).

What theyr'e allowed to do, and what's *reasonable* by most people's minds are two different things.

Exactly... Thus people's understanding of rules and regulations is poor and inconsistent.

My conclusion is to avoid Sydney Flagship Australia Post store QVB. Cant even pay a retail product with a EFTPOS card.

The person thinks that EFTPOS has to do with banks... clearly not understanding, maybe they could fax me the terms and conditions of the store unless it is not allowed and only for "team members" like the Coles store I visited. lol

If Australia Post choose to refuse it, yes.

Yes they will refuse Westfield cards. This has been a long time policy of Australia Post and well known here. Ask Shanye.

Ultimately, the terms and conditions of the EFTPOS gift cards say a merchant may refuse to accept the card. If you don't agree with that condition, don't purchase the card.

Why dont they invest in better technologies to prevent payment instead of paying the CEO 5.8Million 10x more than your prime minister

And this is why people always ruin it for the majority..

Now can we get back on topic and stop sweating the small stuff?

The $100 Coles Gift MCs are worth it but are getting thinner on the ground
