Gift Cards at Supermarkets

All in one is fine but Coles checkout stops you from doing more than 5 $100 cards, was 9 cards during previous promotion in May

I just put through 15 cards for the ATO. One card did not work and tried it a few times. I don't know if it is a wrong 'um, or I made the same mistake twice and it's locked.

Anyway, what have others done in this instance?

I have checked the balance online to get an idea if it is pending. Ive then put it to one side for a week to see if it has gone through or been rejected (hopefully with the money recredited.
Nb: it will get stuck like this if you put more than the card is worth-most likely if one forgets to account for surcharge

Thanks. However, I went to Coles Financial Services etc and found the prepaid MasterCard gift card, but it asks for an access code, and then says it will send me an email - to a gift card recipient?? And then it asks for a card ID. Not getting anywhere.

If its a prepaid one, they are on the back of the card below the mag strip

Looks strange. Usually there are two line items one for ATO and another for the card processing fee.

Thanks, I'll leave it for a few days and see what happens. All the others went through OK. Maybe this one will come good too. A good outcome will be 40 cents left on the card, but then the $100 "pending" does not make sense. Note to self, be careful with the input of the cards.

Maybe, maybe not- I'd recheck the status in a week.
Odd that it's 40c left-would have expected 42c

Give it few days to see if it shows up on you ATO account or comes back to the card. Had similar issue previously where the surcharge was not charged but main payment went through, had to ring ATO to track that payment as it did not show up in my ATO account but did not come back to the prepaid card either. They were able to track it through transaction ID I obtained from the prepaid card provider.

This is the main purpose that I planned to spend the cards on asap to get rid of them quickly.

Thanks, I had emailed them and they got back to me very quickly asking for more info. As you mentioned a transaction ID, I have asked them for that too. Maybe I was 2 cents short somehow. Available funds

As in, several weeks? I haven't received Flybuys points yet for cards bought ten days ago, and normally Flybuys (even promo bonuses) are next-day.

T&C say 4 weeks after end of promo for the bonus points. Ive been getting the 105 per card standard points in good time

I *did* get base points, which surprised me, since I didn't think they'd credit on Coles gift cards. I'll keep an eye out over the next four weeks for the bonus.
