Mal does the UK have a provision where the credit card company can reverse your gift card purchase where the product you bought has no value?

No different to Australia IMHO. I'm currently stuck in the middle of the store (claiming it was activated, see the other company) and the company (store never activated it. Not our issue. Go back to them)

Charge back will resolve this...

Did anyone else buy visa pp for $50 each and bonus of $10 because I did but can't find the thread markis10 started . I have a interesting story to tell over a cup of roasted tea ;)

I bought 4 x $100 of the Only1GiftCard VISA prepaids last week in separate transactions.

I wanted to maximise my Amex MR haul and wasn't sure how many of the $10 off vouchers I'd be able to use before they expired on Dec 10th.

Same here. I stopped after buying 11 x $100 cards. I might have to hoard some grocery items to get through my coupons. Nice points earn though on a Plat Edge card.

I don't think there was a new thread on the topic. I could be wrong of course. I think most of the discussion occured here and with a mention in one other thread(flybuys general promotions).

I only got two of the gift cards, purchased with my Amex card. I've used one and I plan to use the other one tomorrow. I had great trouble with the first of the bonus $10 vouchers/docket deals. I'm hoping I don't have trouble when I use the second $10 voucher.

Feel free to share your story here.

I know I'm not the top of the class here but I brought $11k worth of these gc's . Which I can use over Christmas very easily .... Plus 3 x ponies per $1 -

And the $10 voucher can not be used to buy gift cards or tobacco . But there are many other things to buy milk , bread , air fresheners

A little bit of maths in my head, so don't jump on me if I get this wrong: $11000 / $50 per gift card = 220 gift cards. 220 $10 vouchers means $2200 worth of Coles spend before 10 December (3 weeks, give or take), with each docket to be put through on a separate transaction. Man, the check-out chicks must really hate you (and where are you storing all that toilet paper and dishwashing liquid?!). Also, I am happily surprised that Amex hasn't audited you for this pattern of spend. Makes my own churning look paltry / normal (<$1000 on this offer).

Amex did call me at just about every store. I ran into a big issue where I was escorted out with security at one particular store. Then after a few head office phone calls they gave me a three figure voucher to spend at coles and also to honour the offer of $50 pp cards with $10 off instead of the $10 receipt which actually meant buying each card at $40 instead of the $55.95 . So I brought the whole store and was quiet happy with that purchase and the three figure coles card for compensation . But I'm sure there was or are many that was in the same boat :)

All the stars aligned for my purchase at Masters today.

Last week, I got an email from Everyday rewards offering a 10% discount for my next purchase at Masters.

Last night, Jnr's x 2 gave me money to buy a new BBQ. Checked the Masters website, and the BBQ I wanted was on sale, reduced by $100 AND free delivery for purchases over $400 (saving $75).

Totted off to Woolies and bought $620 Wish Gift cards (@ 3 MR pts per $), jumped on the interweb and ordered the BBQ and a couple of sundries, so saved $100 + $75 + $65 and scored 1,860 MR points. Would have been the quadrella had I pre-purchased the gift cards less 5%, but I'm pretty happy the the result today.

Got some Ticketmaster gift cards and booked single day grandstand ticket for Melbourne Grand Prix today. However, had problems booking it online and spent 45 minutes on the phone to have it booked.

I only got 2 of the $50 cards.

Hence spent $111.90 for $100 of VISA credit and $20 coles credit and 333 MR points.

Coles is terribly inconvenient locations for me so I wasn't sure I'd be able to spend the $10 vouchers in time if I did more.

Already spent one of the VISA cards at merchants who don't take Amex.
