But this will only provide the same points as paying Goodguys direct with CC.

Why not get Binglee to price match and pay using Altitude Black amex for 3 extra points per dollar? Sure the points are really worth 50% face value so equivalent of 1.5 points for total of 3 true points per dollar.

You can only like Bing Lee in NSW though.

I'm looking for the Good Guys gift cards for my kitchen renovation. I've looked at Woolies, Coles, IGA, 7/11 but no luck. Has anyone seen them at grocery stores or petrol stations? I don't want to lose opportunity of making 3 or 4 folds of points.

Employee benefit from my work sell these at 5% off face value, and take AmEx. Message me if you want some.

Just used my Platinum Edge to buy $1200 of Myer gift cards. $500 limit on each card. Had to explain it to the checkout lady.

Didn't realise JB had cards, would have gone there and gotten a better deal.... ah well. 2400 extra points :)

Thanks guys but I need a grocery store or petrol station so I can make multiple points with my platinum edge card.

Good guys gift cards are distributed by blackhawk network. (owner of those gift card stands we see at the grocery shops, auspost etc)

I've seen many blackhawk network stands but I couldn't find any good guys gift card in them. Either i have been unlucky or they stopped distributing the good guys gift cards (they still sell them online though! http://www.giftcards-direct.com.au/giftcards/gift-cards/)

Just letting others know, I made a large purchase of gift cards from a shopping centre today (by credit card), other then asking for my ID, I was told that they now need to write down the actual credit card number on the reciept! (my licence wasn't written, but cc number was!)....

I kicked up a friendly fuss (staff: "we don't write down the expirery number", me: doesn't matter, someone can still steal my details or make a fake account (ie: identity, house loan, use computer to work out the missing details)....

I then asked for the original "security reciept", as staff just put it in the bin (not ripped it up), as I can shred it at home. Staff then wrote details on another copy (licence, name, address, phone number).

Wait there's more! (sorry, but that was the start!)

I then contact the "gift card" phone number and ask if they can write down actual card numbers? Lady on phone said Yes, due to being a large amount, when then gets sent to head office to verify I'm the correct owner, no one steals it..... It then allows shopping centre(s) to refuse more transactions if a person uses the same card (ie: code red NAB CC 92826748292847292897)!

I ask even if it's my own account/card? (ie: not stolen...) The reply was yes!

It's allowed, and I can see for myself by looking at the conditions of use..... Which I just tried looking at! (more then 1 type of rules/conditions!).... Couldn't see anywhere which says that I must allow them to write down the actual credit card number that was used for a large purchase(s)......

I just got off the phone to a different person, and they say my complaint is correct... NOT ALLOWED / MEANT TO write down actual credit card numbers.....

Asked where I made the purchase, which I replied, "you are totally correct, thanks for letting us know, we will let the centre know....."

What do others think?

A) Sorry about any spelling errors!
B) Some words have been chosen, or left out, and my reply/post written in this topic on purpose!
C) Nab cc "details" are totally false, used for an example!

I find different centres have different results even different staff at the same centre different results. I think anywhere up to $5k they write stuff down and let you go but over $5k now I'm told I need a corporate account. I wouldn't be calling anyone about it either i treat is a mistake fare you know don't call the airline don't draw attention to yourself.

If your not happy about how your treated just go to another location or come back another time , you have to learn to swallow your pride and realise what your doing in your head is worth alot more than some chick writing down your cc details. I have had security follow me to my car and write down my number plate I just smile and wave :)

I am sure you meant to say 'woman'.

This has probably been covered… but If i buy from the woolworths "everydaygiftcards.com.au" website, does this classify as a "supermarket" purchase with Amex?

Are you talking something like Amex Plat Edge? Then the answer is yes.

Yeah sorry should have mentioned that.

I can easily buy dan Murphy vouchers via the Woolies website then place an online order. If the website counts as a "supermarket" purchase, then it saves a drive to the shops.

Sorry N860CR my misunderstanding. You would need to have purchased the woolies gift card before the DM purchase. Certainly instore (I do it regularly for 3 points) but maybe it will work if you purchase the gift card online as well. Anyone had experience with this?

Third hand reports suggest no triple points. Happy to hear reports to the contrary.

Yes to triple points, at least when bought from membergiftcards.com.au which according to its website is operated by Woolworths Limited, same for everydaygiftcards.com.au. This is from personal experience.

It used to be no, however my last two Woolies gift card purchases using the link that is supplied by the Entertainment Book have earned me triple points.

I'm very pleasantly surprised to hear that - so it's a 5% discount and triple points!

It's funny, as I thought they had recently eliminated triple points at Woolies-owned retailers that are not actually supermarkets. For example - what was my local Woolies Liquor always earned triple points. It got rebranded to BWS about 2 years ago, but continued to earn triple points. Up until last month that is - now down to 1 pt/$.

The last gift cards I bought through the Entertainment Book link were purchased in May. Not sure what the current point earn is.
