There's 11 people in the pool, including me, so we need 3 more people. One person I believe is doing it but has yet to register on the site. So we need at least 2 more (the excess can be reserves, unless we have enough people for a third team).

Money will be asked for when invoices are issued, which won't happen until teams are formed, so hold on to your money for the moment.

Hi everyone.

Sorry to be in not-so-close contact, but here is the low-down on the current situation.

We have 12 members (including myself) signed up so far:
  1. anat0l (i.e. me )
  2. bossreggie
  3. coolumbla
  4. Skoogle
  5. Leumas
  6. serfty
  7. straitman's daughter
  8. Lindsay Wilson
  9. Flashware
  10. straitman
  11. Bundy Bear
  12. Alanslegal

We still need 2 more people to make a full 2 teams. I don't really want to field a team with less than 7 members (not that it is impossible / against the rules, but it would be much better to go with a full team).

So if you know anyone who would like to join (children, grandchildren, cousins, friends, significant others or other AFF members), I appeal to you to get them to sign up at

Australian Frequent Flyer registration

as soon as possible! Registrations close 13 May; the competition begins 20 May. The sooner I can finalise two teams, the sooner packs can be sent out and thus everyone will be ready in time for the competition start.

Important FAQ (repeated for convenience)

How much does participation it cost?

$99 to participate in the GCC, plus the cost of any postage (if necessary) for me or another person to mail out your starter pack to you.

When do we send you money?

Short answer: when I specifically ask you for it.

Long answer: When a team is created, the GCC will then issue an invoice. I will pay this invoice after which I will ask for payment from you. When I ask for payment, then you can send me the money. I will probably ask for the payment after the packs have been sent out (or pickup arrangements have been made - in this way, you can pay for registration and postage all at the same time).

If we do fall short, I'm happy to drop out. Work is gangbusters at the moment so have little for exercise, is annoying.. have stacked on a few KG since Europe (and it normally helps with my stress levels to exercise, so that's going through the roof at the moment to). Anyway, if we do get it all going is it too much to ask you to bring my kit to OzFest 7 if you have the space? I already have a pedometer from last year so there's no rush for me to get it.......

Cheers.

I love your coment Brisbane Flyer . If only I had the time for that much golf ...my handicap would look a lot better :!:.

I'm lucky to get 12 rounds per year:oops:

Was karens going to participate, Flashware :?:

Not looking for an escape at all, straitman. Looking forward to putting my 6km morning walk for my 2 dogs to good use.

Karens was going to participate however there is a work trip overseas which would make it difficult to wear the pedometre.
Depends on whether you are going to a hot or cold clime...

All I can say is oops and apologies. That should have been directed at Flashware.:oops::oops::oops:
Graciously apologised and easily accepted from you, straitman. Now it makes sense

Last Call! One spot remaining...

Hello all AFFers...

We now have 13 people in the pool (including me), which means we need only one more member to make two full teams for the AFF GCC 2010 contingent.

Join now and feel healthier whilst you virtually walk around the world!

The competition starts on 20 May (next Thursday!) which means we really need to finalise registrations by 13 May (and that is getting late, as time is required to mail out all the starter packs to each participant). If you are interested, please join by using the sign-up link here:

I vote for jdevereux3. As a school boy I’m sure he’s walking around all over the place, so would be great for the cause! :p

As for myself, I walk between the bedroom and the kitchen most days ;)

Thanks Josh,

Move along nothing to see here.

I vote for Penegal. :p another Victorian for team B. Now will he reply.
