Going to get to 2100sc but not 2400, is it worth a sc run?

....and the most annoying thing for me in all of this is that the change from 2100 to 2400 comes with three months of my membership year left.

I will hit 2100 on Sunday 15th May, 15 days after the 2100 number becomes defunct.

I keep forgetting it’s not always going to be a lower and higher level, shame they didn’t think to add a third level, say at 2800 or so, instead of 2400, oh well.

I would have preferred them to keep the 2100 rather than "enhance" this benefit. It was hard work for me as it was...and MrsH is a formidable woman. It is not an option for me to fail to get PG this year! I will not be near 2800 though! I have dragged flights into July from August to deliver PG for MrsH. :(

I meant more so that PG could be a 2100 benefit, and then by 2800 you could also choose another benefit, though I’m not sure 50k would cut it there, but it would be in addition to the benefit at 2100.

Yes I see. I think that would have been a good option for QF.

I wasn't going to bother with trying for 2400 but the double SC offer made me re-think. I've now booked a JASA SYD-BNEx-TSV-BNEx-ADL-BNEx-TSV-BNEx-SYD, a couple of nights in Townsville but it should bring in 880 SCs to take me over 2400. I decided to use points only rather than $$ and it nets at a cost of 70k points after gaining an 8k loyalty and 50k for the 2400. I reckon 880 SC for 70k points and a couple of cheap nights in TSV is worth it heading for Lifetime Silver.
I think that the airport shuttle bus driver will wonder what's going on though and I'll certainly know the BNE J Lounge well by the end of the trip!
