GOLF TORNEY for AFF

I'm interested. (If only I could play as good as I'm keen).

Is it BYO on course? Remember the 0.05 BAC limit if driving a cart ;)

Oxley Golf Course? Oxley has a train station on the Ipswich train line, it is the station after Corinda and before Darra.

Sunday? The day after the FT AGM in February sounds perfect. All other dates would more than likely be a hassle for me as I would need to book my airfares well in advance and I do not know if I will still be working in Brisbane anyway....

Weekends are the only option for me. Sufficient notice to organise sale flights is good!

I'm not a FT Member - in fact guessing it means frequent travel?

Anyway - if no objections, this will be set in concrete.

I will get a fixed price from the club and book a 10ish tee off. To encourage people to attend who say they are going to, I will arrange for Oxley to accept an over the phone deposit, say $10.00 to "confirm" that you will be playing...

Now - what about prizes...

FT = Flyertalk.

There is an annual event, called the AGM, held in Brisbane and the next one is held Saturday 21 February 2009. As many people interested in the golf, serfty, Lindsay Wilson, oz_mark, straitman, myself plus many others will already be in Brisbane attending the FT AGM it would be logical to hold the AFF Golf Day on Sunday 22 February 2009....

To be honest - I'm not even guaranteeing myself that far in advance.... As for Oct /Nov I'm willing to come over for a day - Early till late, MEL/SYD i don't care. (if anyone has a big building to quote(I can quote on the golf course:lol:) - I don't care if it eventuates, i just need an excuse (PM will do (Mr! - I'm thinking of you!)) I need an MR anyway)

Will confirm closer to the date of the official torney..

I'm getting some practice on Sunday for this event...

I've got practice tomorrow morning... and then again Sunday afternoon

There's the game with the mates... and the game with the guys from work (the joys of corporate life! a few guys from our office in Colombia are over and want to play, so why not!)

Rubbish; it's good to have all types of golfers! FWIW, today I won my semi final for my Social GC's B grade championships (off 26) - on the 18th. :)

Just returned from the 19th hole......... played much better than yesterday, but still waaaay over par

I also played in my Social Golf Club's day today...at Wynnum (a course I've never played). For a guy who hasn't played for 6 month, doesn't practice and only enough time for a stretch and a couple of swings before teeing off, had a good day - 33 stableford points off 24. Very happy :D.

I really should be playing more often

I wonder what handicap I will get for the AFF tournament? We are using official AGU handicap? I should be off 14 by then.

I better not mention that while I was in Thailand I shot 75 at Emerald, bogeyed the par 5 18th, 78 at Green Valley and 81 at Old Siam. ;)
