Towncar's are now operating in Melbourne.

Used them for our transfer from the domestic to the CBD and back to the airport.

Cost was $69.00 each way.

Received a SMS immediately after turning on my mobile upon landing in Melbourne.

For the return trip, received the SMS 10 minutes before the booked time to advise the car was waiting.

I asked the driver about reliabilty issues, that has been previoisly mentioned on AFF, but this is no longer an issue, as the driver must inform the call centre, sometime before the scheduled booking time, they have the job covered.

Highly recommend.

Pleased to hear they seem to have improved. I assume you're referring to my bad experience here? http://www.australianfrequentflyer....heap-limo-service-syd-23884-4.html#post564585
I gathered at the time that there was probably no real system for handling the bookings other than calling or SMSing drivers from HQ. If anything went wrong, your car just didn't show up. I'm still over it - and will stick with Uber.
