GOOD NEWS! Krisflyer Miles to be extended until 2023 [previously April 2022]

And this is almost for another thread but those that dont really have a place or plan to go.

I've just managed to use mine up...
Yes many of us have - they will soon be useless as will all loyalty programs Comrades will be living in 15 min cities we wont be allowed to leave our 15 min city (as seen in China with their Eyuan and Social Credits system - hey even IMF said at its conference Morocco late June 2023 they are ramping up One World (and thats not QF or CX or CX btw) CDBC linked to our WHO Global Health Passport -

I thinks it’s a YMMV, I was able to. When I rang to enquire the answer was yes, when I later tried to actually do it the answer was no, I complained and it got escalated and the supervisor said yes. So may need a HUACA or escalation.

I wish we could get official confirmation.
I may have posted my experiences in this site before. But recently (2 months ago)
I tried to get confirmation
1 rep said not sure
2nd rep said cant say yes or no but you can now but in future things may change
3rs rep said yes easy, i even asked if it was ok to save the chat as an email as evidence, and for her to check with supervisor

In my situation i have about 900k expiring in the next few months so i am thinking of booking 3x 300k flights for myself for a years time , then extending 2 of them for another 12 months

Definitely keep a copy of the chat - most chat systems provide that option automatically, so no legal issue there. Equally, given reports of 'poor' advice from some CSAs then you are well within your legal rights to keep a copy of the chat.

Just make sure you file it away somewhere safe and memorable. Full digital copies of phone calls also come in useful, and are your right to request under the Federal Privacy Legislation.

Well the fact they did it for me indicates it CAN be done, the problem seems to be training and/or willingness! Have you already done the paid extension?

Have not done the paid extensiom , however 'back of napkin' maths made the fee very high

While I agree, may be worth extending some at least, a payment to extend some of your points (while not attractive) is always better than losing them totally. E.g. in your case with 3 * 300K point maybe pay for one lot of those 300K, but of course everyone's calculation is different, so I can understand why you might not want to even I think this sounds useful.

hey everyone, i know the general rule of 350 days in advance is when seats are released, and the higher cabin you go the rarer it is.

given that there are a lot of people with points expiring soon (inc me)

what is the best chance to snag a J or F Flight (Long haul) lets say europe, USA,
lets say departing australia anytime from 1 weeks time to one year in advance?

ie super flexible, but just want to use the miles

Looking in Feb 2024 (from SYD) there seemed to be a number of to/from Europe in J around for different European airports. Even Saver redemptions. F on the other hand - not so much.

I've actually already got a emiratres flight in feb 2024 that was expiring first

I might have a look at j to europr in feb and gift to relatives:)
