Good News! Pyjamas on (almost) all Qantas international flights in J!

Umm, maybe it's because I go to bed quite late anyway, but I would consider QF72 a late night flight not an overnight flight, given it starts and ends in the same time zone, albeit arriving at the late hour of 12:30am.
OT, but that arrival time means you can book SIN-PER-SYD/MEL for the same points as SIN-SYD/MEL (same day connection!). Handy if stuck in whY (without PJs) but you can o/n in PER in a real bed and take the onward connection eastwards at a leisurely mid morning / early arvo departure time.

Really wouldn’t matter if it arrived at 11:30pm or 12:30 am as for intl->dom or vice versa it’s not driven by calendar days, rather anything <24hrs is not considered a stopover. Different to domestic.

I'm currently rocking my QF pajamas in Toronto - having worn them on my 14 hour SYD-YVR AC flight in economy! Yes I'm 'that' passenger on the plane - but if you're not gonna provide them, then well I'm going BYO.

I would prefer them to have a small option however ... they are just swimmingly large, especially after a few washes.

Hot wash and hotter tumble dry might shrink them down a size! 😁

Mine have gone the other way and just gotten more floppy ... I don't have a dryer though, that might be the secret.

No PJ's were offered on QF291 SYD/SIN (Finnair for Qantas) on Thursday. Perhaps the Finnair crews didn't get the memo.

Perhaps the Finnair crews didn't get the memo.

Wonder how these types of service changes work with wet lease agreements.

Carrying an additional 40-50 sets of PJs (allowing for extra M/XL sets) on every AY operated departure across a multi-year period will have an associated fuel burn cost right?

Thinking along the lines of the AA story about removing a single olive from First Class salads saving US$40k per year. I guess Qantas will have clauses in the agreement around the right to alter their service standards.

Yes, or they just pay ‘actual’ fuel consumption.

Didn't get the memo or there actually isn't one in the first place.

I suspect the dollar saving to AA was about the cost of no longer actually purchasing the olives.

PJs ... LOL !!

When travelling in economy from Brisbane to Sydney, on 1st. January this year ...

I was 'freezing' cold. Uncontrollably shivering.

I knew something was 'wrong'. Runny nose. Sore throat. Lethargy and no interest in eating anything ... or DRINKING alcohol ( really strange !! )

Yep. I had COVID ( confirmed by test the next day ).

I asked cabin staffer for a blanket.
"Sorry, we don't carry them in Summer".

What about a mask ? Nup to that as well !!

( As I didn't have any 'carry-on', I made a bolt for the exit, on the second the seat belt sign went off.
Only got about four rows ahead, before someone blocked me.
When I put my hand over my mouth, and kept it there, people started staring at me, and with a little effort, I was able to get off that aircraft fairly quickly ).

Why would I lie or mislead?

I'm not for a moment suggesting you would lie or mislead, but as far as I'm aware, you're not an official representative of Qantas, so I would expect a statement like the one you've made in the heading (which is quite different from your first post) would have something official to support it.

Perhaps I'll put it another way: What leads you to state that almost all Qantas international flights/all flights to Asia will have PJs?

It's obvious they work in the industry & have access to non-public information/documentation that cannot be posted here.
